But keep hating on your own QB. Dork.

We should have Stuck with Darnold another year and not traded so much for a QB in 2023. YARN | They both suck. | The Big Bang Theory (2007) - S06E06 The Extract Obliteration | Video gifs by quotes | c04b9ae7 | 紗

I know plenty of people who were okay with Cam either way.

He was saying Roger Goodhell wasn't one of them. Nore were a bunch of other owners is my guess.

It's what made winning that much sweeter. The haters had to choke on it.

They are not equal. But I didn’t believe either was worth that ridiculously desperate trade up.
I agreed with you then and still believe that now.
We got horrible value for those assets.

Half the people here trashed the 2023 offense while overlooking that a coach they don’t think much of went 6-6 with them to finish 2022. You could have built on that.

Think about the picks lost and DJ too, and the additional investment in 2024 and the 1st this year and imagine all that still being done and having Darnold running it.
Then the 9th in 2023, the other 1st and two 2nds, you could have put them into the defense and still have had the massive offensive investment. Granted you would have altered the cap money you had for the guards by paying Darnold.

And tell me we wouldn’t have been so far ahead of where we are now….

You got a be living in a cave somewhere to poo this post.

Ohhhhh...

LOL

I picked up too turdpiles from the same poster for saying basically I liked both Jake and Cam.
I tried to find where I had been negative and couldn’t see it. It was basically my most ‘fan’ posting in months, I thought. Innocuous approval of the guys behind our two best years. Could not make sense of it other to think that it was not okay with someone that I like both QBs.

I have no idea how any Panthers fans could not love Jake and Cam. It's just baffling

Cam had his moments for me like celebrating a 1st down when we were down big, but overall, dude was a big kid playing the game he loved. He made the game fun for fans and engaging. He was great for fans, and probably for bringing in new young fans, but not enough old fans with $$$ and instead of embracing change they stuck with Sid and his old balls.

We should have traded down, taken Torrance, taken Charbonnet and Mims. Then gone defense. Re-signed Foreman and Darnold. If we sucked again, then you get a shot at Daniels, Maye, Williams, or Nix. You get to keep DJ Moore and stack a core of talent.

You could do almost the same moves offensively, and have the 2023 9.1, the 2.x, the 2024 1.x, the 2025 2.x, and DJ. Draft defense with those picks and you should be stout.

Just think of having maybe not a SB team, but a shot at 10 -12 wins and the playoffs instead of the horrendous ball we have watched since 2023.

And some realistic hope.

One thing is blatantly obvious at this point. Going all in to swing a massive trade up to draft a QB prospect who checked zero NFL physical traits boxes was a huge mistake.

I said this before that trade, but those trades in general just never work out, usually because if the team at #1 is wiling to trade the pick, it means the QB options that year just aren't that great to begin with.

That we then took Bryce just compounded the issue

    • People were discussing the new backup QB in comparison the the starter.  Neither has anything close to a cannon.  Video was posted of them throwing.  If people can’t be free to express their opinions without being put on a list of posters who have ruined this place we have a bad situation here. People trying to silence  criticism of the QB.    Maybe actually post about the other players instead of about the other posters. That is where it went off the rails.
    • That's true and we're definitely going to hear more about it as summer progresses. But at the end of the day all of the progress we've made on the roster as a whole will only matter if our passing offense can emerge from the basement of the NFL. In 2023 it was 32 out of 32 in 2024 it was 30th out of 32 and last year it was 26th out of 32. And early in the season we relied heavily on a career year from Rico Dowdle who is no longer on the roster. This is only reinforced by the fact that we (depending on how one views it) effectively took playcalling out of Dave Canales hands and brought in another offensive mind. The elephant in the room isn't going anywhere no matter how much we may not like it.
    • There's plenty of other things to discuss. This is the most talented roster we've had in a long time.
