Boycott Tepper

Recommended Posts

Those of you saying sell, are just naive to how business works. There is zero chance he's going to sell this team because of the performance on the field or any boycott. Even if we were to lose every game going forward his return on investment goes up every single year.

I do believe him when he says he wants to win. The reality is who wouldn't if they owned a team. At least he's not an owner who's not willing to invest back in the team, which you can't say about all the other owners.  He was too Hands-On in the early stages, and has changed over time. I take that as a huge win.

the Panthers are maybe 25% of Teppers overall wealth.

It makes good money as it is and NFL Franchises are assets that has historically performed very well regardless of the owners investment.

What exactly do you think not buying tickets or swag is going to do to incentivize him to sell?  The only people who can make him sell are the 31 other owners of his little club

It doesn’t matter.  You can’t hurt him.  I watched an interview with DeMaruice Smith a couple weeks back where he explained how the franchises are set up.  He said he reviews their financials, but there is no way to ever know what they really make because the teams are set up as multiple, almost countless LLCs under the umbrella of what we know them as - The Carolina Panthers.  And he emphasized, they make money hand over fist.  It’s probably impossible to count the money they make as a profit per year.  Good, bad, average…  doesn’t matter.  They make money beyond our imagination no matter how they perform.  Im sure it’s why they’re so selective about who they let in, because it’s wealth beyond measure year in and year out.

Tepper dgaf about nothing we say or do.  We’re stuck with this fuging arrogant asshole until he takes the team somewhere else.

Dont buy any Panther related gear or go to any games. That's how you do it.

No stupid hashtag will ever win out over not giving the owner, who's a moron when it comes to running a professional football organization, your hard earned MONEY

Since he has owned the team hes not gotten one thin dime from me. Prior, I would attend 5,6 games a year, buy the food and beer...buy the merch etc.... no hair off his ass nor mine.

Who handpicked him to be the next one in the club. It seemed very obvious that not matter what they were going to force JR to sell the Panthers to Tepper.

Tepper could give two craps if you boycott him, he probably sits in his office rubbing his brass balls and laughs at these comments. Stop going to games, stop buying merch.

I haven't bought Panthers merch since Tepper has bought the team.  That and the jerseys are Nike.  The last thing I bought was a hat around 2017.

Yup, hindsight is 20/20 there LG.  I was told the League couldn't force JR to sell, while technically true, I'm sure there was a TON of pressure and persuasion tactics being used behind the scenes. IIRC, Tepper wasn't even the highest bidder, Navarro(?) was but he wasn't the RICHEST bidder.  Tepper had the biggest wallet in the pool of bidders. This is the reason the Walton family owns the Broncos even though there were people like Manning and Elway in ownership groups that would have made WAY more sense for the League.

    • From a fan perspective? Yeah. From the Canales/Morgan perspective? You gotta still be employed by then. I'm not sure Bryce/Dalton/Hooker gets that done. Tepper wants offense. If you bring in a vet who puts up yards and points but buries you with turnovers you've at least demonstrated that you can make your offense work with an NFL caliber QB. This current embarrassment of a poo show probably leads to another full on reset with the talent pool of people willing to come work for Tepper shrinking increasingly smaller. I mean, someone is always going to sign up for that payday but I think we're to the point that our wish lists have to start where everyone else's ends because anyone with other options is choosing the other option. That's why the thought of another reset just isn't very exciting to me.
    • Obviously too soon to tell on some of DM's draft picks. There's a lot to be excited about IMO with young guys (All draft picks this year outside of Etienne), and last year's is a mixed bag. 1 and 2 look like busts which he needs to own, but Chau, JT if he can stay healthy, and trading for Mike Jack were all good business in last year's draft. Trevin is the wildcard. Been hot garbage, but improvement. Doesn't help when the Huddle identified better players in a lot of the spots, though.  Free Agency I think has been decent. I think he's filled what holes he can while not being crazy. I think the defensive players we signed this offseason were again good business, but I'm also worried Evero may ruin them.  As for Canales, the locker room at least seems to believe and is still saying the right things. Patience is obviously running thin, and I don't love a lot of Canales, but until there's mutiny I just think he gets another year and likely another QB to prove it.  One part of me is on team blow it up again. But another part is stuck on just being patient and letting it play out. Unless we get a Tomlin/Vrabel proven coach, another GM and Coach combo just feels exhausting at this point. A good QB covers a lot of ills, but so does a good coach. Chicken or the egg, and frankly I don't have confidence in Tepper to hire another coach anyway.
    • Yeah it permeates everything, everyone’s consciousness. Defense too. Maybe ST are somewhat immune but the players on those units participate in the other phases.  It is a motivation killer to know that you have probably lost before you ever step in the ring.
