Someone on YouTube looked at the oline all 22. At times, the patriots were only rushing 3 and getting immediate penetration from all 3 guys.

There were times Zavala didn't even get touched and his guy flew around him. The play where Bryce threw it into the DL's facemask he got blasted by Zavala's assignment. Sucks too because Tremble was the right read over the middle.

He looked outright overwhelmed like his rookie season all over again. It's very concerning seeing multiple players regress, especially on the offense. That's supposed to be Canales' wheelhouse.

Starting Zavala over Christensen was always a head-scratcher to me. Brady should be the first guy off the bench at every position.

I agree.  On the Mike Kaye podcast the other day he mentioned that people within the organization told him that Christensen had a very bad camp, whatever that means.  They just signed him to that new contract and he always looked good on the actual field last year.  I have no idea what they meant exactly by he had a very bad camp, but he should have been the 6th lineman the entire time until proven otherwise.

Lol. Not quite the same, Ive just limited my Panthers forum time lately I hate Bryce young but its a broken record until they do somthing about it..

I agree that the Young debate has run its course. That horse has been beaten so badly the the only thing left is a bloody spot where the horse fell dead.

Just another thing to add to the long list of things that the Huddle could see that the Panthers' well paid professional evidently can't.

To be clear, I don't blame Bryce. I don't blame him for not participating at the combine. Most top prospects don't. There's little to gain and potentially a lot to risk. Does he really want to go out there and float his ducks while Levis and Richardson and Stroud are throwing lasers? It's gonna be a bad look. I don't blame him for not having NFL measurables. It was always obvious. It's the Panthers' fault for thinking that these were things that could be overcome.

I didn't blame Armanti Edwards or Jimmy Clausen either. All I can ask of players is to put in the work. It seems like all of these guys did what the coaches asked of them and they just weren't good enough. That's not their fault.

it is a bit exhausting tbh, it's why I've stopped bothering to look into understanding the circumstances and just thrown my hands up. There's just nothing new to add.

but the rest of the team is also in such rough shape, hard to be excited. At least we've got a handful of very good players... Just wish we could get something more consistent and competent going as a team.

And development. That’s all he talks about

I got the same vibe from Sunday. Halfway through it just looked like 2023 all over again

On the list of things I will never understand in a million years

1.How half of the huddle could see this and a professional org could not

2. How the hell does dan morgan get the gm job all things considered

3. Why in the hell did we trade up for a rb with a torn acl

theres more but those are my top head scratchers

Don't try to remember or count them. You will only make yourself throw up.

It's getting old watching Panthers player look as good as they're ever gonna look on opening day of their rookie season. We just don't develop talent. Chuba is one of the few guys in recent years who has actually significantly improved as Panther vs. when he was drafted. There's a loooooong list of guys who havent.

    • If we don't go OT, we will regret it.  What bothers me?  Are we going to get a starting-caliber OT at 19?  I think the draft is solid at OT, and the more I read up and watch video, the more I watch Lomu, the more I want him.   I see Freeling as a RT who needs some work in run blocking (since we need to run first, maybe not a good fit) and I see Proctor ending up as a Guard.  After Lomu (assuming Mouigia and fanu are gone), I think we wait until round 2.  In round 2, there are about 3-4 I like (Zuhn--good pass blocker and VERY underrated right now; Tiernan is a very good pass blocker as is Miller from Clemson, but both are not good in the run game.  Max Ixxxxx from Ariz St is impressive too---technically, there is not a of difference in these second tier guys--good in pass pro, need work in the run game.   If we wait until round 2 for an OT, we probably need to sign Nijman and start him early.   I almost think this is what we should do if Lomu is gone.  There is a big dropoff after him, imo, and I think we'd get better value if a stud ILB or edge is there.  Someone like TJ Parker Clemson makes sense. If Lomu is gone, trading back might be the play.
    • And what is x gunna help with except show him what not to do. Plus for the first year and a half he was just an obstacle
    • I understand that some people want WR. I am solidly against using yet another high pick there. Coker is pretty good and we used No picks on him.  What I think we really need at WR is a little bit of a Smitty lite. It is ridiculous to say let’s get a Smitty because you just can’t do that, but someone not tall and long striding but more in his mold. I think we’d have a pretty well rounded group.    Looking at tackle, with replacing Moton looming, it just seems like the no brainer.  You fill in Icky short term. Depending on how he recovers, and how the new guy plays, you go from there. A tackle at 19 is most likely either a LOT, a ROT, or a big talented guard, at worst. We will need all three in the next couple of years.  I would love to have a stud ILB be there at 19 but the OL is the responsible thing to do I believe.
