better to listen but this my brief summary. Panthers discussion about 8 mins of this video

mike kaye is around the team and mint st  ill take hos  word over others

1. Panthers Not able to carry over operationally from 2024 or is a concern

2. still trying to figure themselves out after  21 games in the Canales era

3. Issue Young cannot consistently elevate the product around him

4. on Young,  overarching issues were  not on young but yet to see he could carry a team. Given that,   Is it worth picking up 5th year contract    Could be young needs change of scenery and panthers need a new qb

5  discussion of personnel issues etc

6  lot of the approaches are half baked and contradictory

He should have just came and said what a lot of us on here have already said, your right, they are terrified of throwing the ball down field, why is that?  Just say it!  I have never seen an NFL player, let alone an NFL QB coddled so much, it’s sickening.  But at least he did have the balls to say Bryce can’t elevate a team.  I honestly believe the approach being half baked and contradictory is because they can’t figure out exactly what they have in the QB position, Frank couldn’t figure out what to do with him either.  At some point the excuses has to stop for this guy chalk it up as an expensive loss and move on!

Good video. Brought up some good points - most of which has been talked about ad nauseum around here already. I am with him when he talks about how he's surprised the progress the offense showed in the second half of last year is completely gone so far this year.  I had high hopes for them based off of those last 10 games as well but so far, it's not there. Don't know why but it isn't.

This is it in a nutshell. The only thing they do know is there's no way they should pick up his 5th year option. That is an absolute proven fact. They shouldn't even debate it. Its completely off the table. They better be scouting every qb option available in the coming offseason.

if a charlotte observer writer is now criticizing bryce and canales, as tepid as the criticism is, that's an ominous sign.

How could it not be. There's only so much blame for this mess you can place on Young. When things outside of and not remotely related to the qb start to stand out, Charlotte we have a problem.

Picking up the option on Bryce's contract would be absolutely insane. Dumping another $26M guaranteed into this failed experiment would be the dumbest thing we could do.

There’s no fuging way

You’d think Bryce would be smart enough to say the right things about competition and excited to earn the spot blah blah blah, but when he was benched last year his camp started feeding rumors to Russini that teams wanted to trade for him.

He's a messy little entitled bitch and he’ll go down kicking and screaming for sure.

Then you have to trade him, letting him simply play out his 4rth year and the letting him walk would be colossally moronic if that is what they are suggesting.

For what? Other teams watch these games too. Who is trading anything for Bryce Young knowing they're gonna be on the hook for $26M guaranteed?

    • I'm convinced Harden wants to do nothing but put up pretty shots and try to draw fouls and then do nothing on defense lol. Brunson went off though
    • Baker was traded before he played his 5th year.  RGIII was cut before playing his 5th year. So it is rare but it happens.
    • Time to hit 4000 yards and 30 TDs (including rushing). I don't care about INTs anymore. That's a big part of the problem. He plays uber conservative until the game is on the line. Playing not to lose, instead of playing to win. Time to let it friggin rip from the get. The team can win with a pick or 2 if he has 3-4 TDs. Stop playing scared.  But to be fair, his WRs have not been great. You all can bash about 1st round picks and O-line cap all you want.  Chuba as your #1 RB his entire career.  Adam Thielen as your best WR for 2 of 3 seasons is ridiculous. Then a rookie as your best in the 3rd season. Legette is not a 1st round talent. Probably closer to a 4th if you compare him to Brazzel this year. Coker has been a walking injury report. Nothing else to really speak of at WR or TE. Jimmy Horn has potential, but he is not an NFL starter yet. Oline has been better as run blockers than pass blockers. Ickey has always been so-so as a pass blocking LT. Center has been a revolving door for 3 years. Damien Lewis has been as marketed. Hunt is a great run blocker but an ok pass blocker - when healthy. Moton has been solid at RT. Biggest problem with the oline has been depth. When someone went down, their replacement became a glaring weakness. Overall a good but not great unit the last 2 years. 2023 was a ish show. Nothing else to say.  Not one game breaker, take it to the house offensive weapon since DJ Moore. Hopefully we get a little of that from Brazzell.  Either way, in his 4th season, it doesn't matter. You have to be able to overcome whatever comes your way. First 3 seasons with a young supporting cast is defendable. Can't use that anymore though. 3rd year in the offense. 3rd year with the same HC.
