Is anyone else now buying the idea Tepper has eyes on a Europe move??

Unlikely.

1) Tepper just signed a 20 year commitment with charlotte.

2) The city owns the land the stadium sits on, and can foreclose on the stadium if he breaks the agreement (plus fines). Bye bye Charlotte FC.

3) Charlotte FC cannot maintain that stadium alone. I can’t imagine the legal crap from MLS he’d have to deal with if that team couldn’t play in the city.

4) If the nfl setup shop in Europe, they’d be subject to Europes laws. Think safety (CTE), unions, corporate governance, contract law, employment law, etc. Keeping the EU regulators happy would change the game forever.

Tepper is not going to pay European taxes after living in the South Eastern US for this long.

Besides like everyone says about aligning Union, labor, safety laws with US, it won’t happen.

I highly doubt other owners are going to approve it either, think about the travel every single week. Either they would have to come to the US for a few weeks at a time or a different team would have to which would impact their next week of practice. Would complicate scheduling for the rest of the league as well. Would never be approved.

I do think that eventually Europe will get a revamped version of NFL Europe that is modernized and it will do well if managed correctly.

Good stuff here in both, money makes 90% of it go away. Or giving the soccer team to Nicole or _______ . There is too money at play here, talking billions and that makes every law/union/tax/etc lessens the impact given when everyone is getting their hands into NFL money printing machine.

Plus I believe both of you know Tepper is paying the state/city one American dollar in rent per year for the land the stadium(tepper 100% owns). Europe would fall in line just like the great USA does when it comes to counting billions of dollars/euros....

Old Mr big cat threaten to move the team after getting them here, if I remember right.

The good news is that Tepper works so poorly with others that if the NFL didn't carry him across the finish line I have trouble thinking it will end any better than Rock Hill.

It's also not a fan issue. It's the product they are selling issue. Couldn't pick a worse product to sell in a new market like Europe.

I still can't believe that whole Rock Hill disaster.  That's a bigger land sore than the former Baker Family theme park in the early 00s.

Such an easy thing for him to pull off and make money on. Not a good precedent to set when looking towards thr future.

The Panthers rank like #9 in the league in average attendance right now, 11 last year and 8 the year before.  Things aren't as bad as we think or feel.  The team has historically always sold seats regardless which could be attributed to corporate events and companies buying a chunk and also opposing teams' fans showing up (oof).   On top of that profit sharing counts for like 60% of most teams' income.  You don't have to be good to make money.  It's like wrestling, you need your jobbers for the rest of the league to beat up on.

This is one of the fastest grouping markets in America.... this team is not going anywhere.  I don't think the NFL would allow it either because it's a money maker.

Though I too share in the sentiment that maybe if they left it would end the suffering.

Uh.... wrong. Jerry Richardson never threatened to move. The fact is that the then Mayor of LA was courting the NFL to return prior to the Chargers coming up from San Diego and the Rams in St Louis
