Bryce can play beyond 20 yards when the team can play beyond 20 yards. The physics of football don’t change from college to NFL. Bryce had one of the best deep balls in college football. He also had surprise surprise, speed at the WR position. Our fastest WR is 5’8 bruh and he just got on the field. Your take is lazy as always.

This is comical. Yeah, the "physics" do change in that the pocket is usually muddier, the receivers aren't as wide open, and the defenders close a lot faster both in the pass rush and in coverage on the back end. Bryce absolutely did not have one of the best deep balls in college. Go back and look at the actual play again not just star sheets. You'll see punt balls thrown up to wide open receivers making adjustments to go get the ball or stand around and wait for it to get there.

Several of us on here pointed all of these things out leading up to the draft but we're laughed off as haters and told that *scoff*, yeah you guys are seeing something that all the football experts out there can't see? Yeah, right. It was all right there if you watched his college play as it translated to the next level. All the red flags we've seen show up were readily visible.

I'm going to agree with you here. Part of the problem is that the coach and Bryce himself have been playing scared. When they decide to just go for it and work that ball downfield things work out.

Bryce can chuck it, given protection and some work on getting open by the receivers.

And as to the original post, yeah, I like Tremayne. I hope we see more out of him. Kid also looks like a bruiser to try and take down if you're the typical DB.

No it doesn't.  Young has one of the worst deep ball completion % and ratings in the league.

I’d love to have a Ted Ginn type on this team

People really need to stop bringing up Cam and thinking that’s the standard. Cam is 1/1. Generational talent.

Well yeah but his arm is not unique. His mix of size, running ability and just being to deliver the blow which QBs just don’t do. Or didn’t. That is what separates him. I think.

Passing wise and in particular deep ball wise there are other players that can pretty much make those throws. The velocity was major league with him but they can get a lot closer to Cam than Bryce can.

The same folks are going to outright lie in response to this despite the plethora of evidence (including video) that supports it.

Best they might have is a random YouTuber that follows the Chargers and got beat up by a little person in a barfight.

What evidence do you have that Bryce had one of the best deep balls in college?

Just curious because outside of highlights it seemed he wasn't very good there. His strength seemed more escaping the pocket and playing outside structure of the offense, rather than a deep ball. His arm was always considered sort of meh - good enough but not great.

Yeah we delusionals will tend to chirp over what we see as specious claims.

I don’t think claiming that the receivers can’t play up to Bryce’s arm which is more or less what I’m seeing, is accurate. But that also doesn’t mean I think they can’t be improved.

You guys just blot the actual deep game out of your consciousness to compensate down to his level.

I get the frustration but the reality is that it's very hard to evaluate guys this year beyond TMac because of the position that is supposed to get them the ball.

T Mac is exactly Bryce’s ‘speed’. He is a real good match for his QB.

Call me crazy but with what I have seen through 5 weeks this team would have 3 or 4 wins with league average QB play. His first quarter turnovers have killed us time and time again. I really think we would have beat the Jags and Cards. Idk wtf happened against the Pats.

We actually have some talent on offense and I think Dave’s offense with a QB who can push the ball downfield would look completely different. You can tell he wants to run to set up big play action chunk plays and currently can’t.

Thielen was traded away right before our season started. Coker got hurt right before our season started. Renfrow, a player that hasn't played in a while went from cut to being thrust onto the field. Moore, the one vet we did keep, is currently out. Bad things seem to happen trying to throw to XL. Oh, and Tremble was out for a few weeks while Sanders is currently out himself.

Simply starting the fact that we can't even keep a #2 on the field. You're hoping one of the many rookies pulls off a Coker and starts having consistent production.

    • Hello there.  We are rolling out a complete overhaul of the Huddle. Why: Frankly this site is so old the database and antiquated software has gotten unmanageable. There is not much we can do to fix anything anymore. The new site is wired for the future including getting back in the app stores.    When:  Hopefully by early July so that we can test and recover things. After the migrations we will still have access to the old site behind the scenes to bring over anything we missed.    Wait, will I lose anything?  We are only bringing over topics and posts from the past calendar year. The tinderbox is being set on fire and rolled off a cliff. All it ever did was made this place feel horrible all while changing approximately 0 minds in 20 years.  The new site will only have 4 forums to keep this joint Carolina team sports focused. Panthers, Hornets, Charlotte FC, Hurricanes.    Improved Moderation  This is a clean slate for us, as such if you are a problematic member (you know who you are) that enjoys getting banned and coming back, we aim to make it much more difficult for you. However, upon the move your slate is clean. Take advantage of it.  We would love to get this place back to what it used to be. Nice folks with friendly banter centered around Carolina sports. We will be using the BAN HAMMER liberally to rid this place of people who aren't interested in that or try to drag the new site back into the gutter.   New Features With new tech comes new features we will be rolling out over the rest of the year.    What about the damn ads?  Fewer and less problematic ads. Again, new tech allows for this. Without ads this place gets shut down.    What if I can't login?  If you can't login due to not being able to reset your password from the login screen, email [email protected] with your username and we will get you squared away.    Let me know if you have any specific questions.
