Bryce Young will have a Brees career arc. I doubt it will be with the Panthers.

I've thought since day 1, even though I wanted Stroud, that if Young was going to be successful he would likely look like Brees to start and end up taking off later in his career on a new team. Unfortunately/fortunately so far that looks to be spot on. By every metric aside from Yds/g, so far in 2025, Year 3 Bryce Young is significantly outplaying Brees' Year 3. My feeling is that the Bryce Young we saw at the end of last year was actually just a sneak peek of the player he is to become in a year or 2. Weather he will be on the Panthers or another team remains to be seen, I just hope if he isn't on the Panthers when he does play like the back half of 2024 for full time that we at least have our version of Philip Rivers in his place...

He absolutely 100 percent will not have the career arc of a HoF QB. There is heavy doubt if he can even be a starter. He will not be able to beat out another starting caliber QB on any other team. He will not be a good backup because he seems to panic when the pressure is on and expectations are high.

I call horseshit. Bust Young does not have the physical talent to be a consistent NFL starter. Brees had a MUCH stronger arm than him and looks to be WAY more accurate. Young is finished and anyone stupid enough to sign him will learn that too. Time to cut bait.

Yeah, Brees didn't have a big arm but his arm was probably roughly about average for an NFL QB and yeah, he was extremely accurate. That was his real calling card. Bryce's arm is subpar and his accuracy very sporadic. That's a really tough row to hoe.

yeah i am guessing young is out of the league in 4 years unless the panthers do a panther thing and give him a huge contract and bring in 0 competition for him

I could see him carving out a career as a backup but I honestly don't see him as a long-term starter.

There is nothing similar about them other than the height.

And Drew Brees had some physicality about him. He actually hit the weight room. That's kind of important too.

At the very least he didn't panic and just drop the ball when seeing o coming defenders. Bryce's lack of strength is a problem. Defenders know when sacking him to go for the ball because they might simply be able to physically overpower him and yank it out of there.
