Can we get to 9-8?

Recommended Posts

All I wanted this year was to see some improvement from last year.  I thought we could win between 7 and 10 games this year and haven't seen anything to change my mind.  Jets, Saints, and pull a couple of upsets along the way and we met the mark of improving.

To actually have a shot at the playoffs will require playing better in a few areas, such as rushing the passer.

Not this season. The die has been cast. Vegas had us at 6.5 wins for the season and after the Jets i cannot see another realistic shot at a win. It would take a lot of people playing much better than they have and a lot of luck staying healthy to touch 8 wins.

I think we could split with the Saints.  Thats 5.   Then it gets tough to find more given the schedule.  Maybe catch a resting Tampa team to get to 6 but 6 gets hard to really figure out.

Its hard to predict injuries and bad luck in the future. But it's pretty much a given with the Panthers. Having said that, I will say that I still don't see any reason yet to doubt Vegas. Until they upset a playoff team or two later in the season when the caliber of opponents get tougher I'm sticking with under on what Vegas set.

I agree.  You also can’t predict the Atlanta type games where a team just implodes.  I mean a random punt returner can gift a game off two muffs and you win a game you really couldn’t in a normal scenario

We could beat a decent team if our QB had a career type day and theirs had an off day. You just never know.

Which teams are decent? At this point you never know in this league.

Bryce is playing better he already has 10 TDs in 6 games which is a huge step up from what he gave us the first 2 seasons. Our D could be nasty if we had some kind of pass rush develop.

We could also spiral into a huge losing streak....who knows.

It does vary, and depends on their health and other factors. I mean you really can’t look at the schedule in August and know what you will be facing mid season or even early October. Pick a month. Any time because stuff happens. It is any given Sunday relative to that.

Early this year, KC was beatable. Will they be in December? And we don’t know if they’ll be motivated, or out of it. One team, that is likely a different team in 10 weeks. That’s an example of what I mean.
Far as “decent” we know who the good teams are. We could hit a good team on a bad day, and we could have a really good one. It happens. All I’m saying.

And I don’t expect it not to, for random teams. That’s about it. Predicting wins is an imperfect pastime.
