Canales doesn't have us at 4-3, I sincerely think we're 4-3 in spite of the job Canales has done so far.

We're 4-3 because we've played the 2 worst teams in the NFL, the worst defense in the NFL while they were missing their best offensive player, and an epically embarrassing performance by the Falcons.

You could make an argument that with better coaching, we should actually be 6-1 right now and I don't think that would be hard to justify.

Unless G. Od is walking through that door no Head Coach is 6-1 with Bryce Young throwing the football for him.

We've improved from last year - that's all you can ask of a GM and HC.

You're right, his stats somehow are even better than how he actually looks when watching the games, which is remarkable given how poor his stats are.

That's the thing, we're 7 games into T-Mac's career and even though people see some things he needs to improve upon, he's had numerous plays already in just 7 games where you can look at him and say, "this kid has star potential"

Bryce was the #1 overall pick who 2.5 years into his career, has what, MAYBE 5 plays that make you say "he could be an average to above average QB in this league"

Most QB's have that in the first month of their rookie season, he just flat out doesn't pass the ye test even before you dig into his paltry stats.  Dart already has more plays in his 3 starts that make you think he has franchise QB potential than Bryce has in his entire career.

Yeah, Bryce's real eye popping plays are pretty few. Most of his real positive stuff is largely just "adequate" for an NFL starting QB.

I think this is very fair.

i also don’t think he has more than 2-3 games in him.

The length of time I am unsure of. I don't know that I really expect him to get worn down like I think some seem to believe. I just don't think people should have unrealistic expectations about the results.

I generally expect a small dip in TO's and a noticeable jump in passing production and deep targets(15+ yards). Not dramatic, just noticeable.

I really don't think this offense is truthfully built around a bunch of deep shots. Certainly not the way some seem to be expecting, anyway.

Yikes. That will likely effect him for much of this season even when he does return and on top of that it is his right ankle where he needs to draw power from on his throws. Not great!

Good Lord, someone touches him and he is out for multiple games.

Let's move on from him ASAP, alright Dan?

I think having Dalton opens up some routes for Mcmillan that just aren't there with Bryce.

Also there's more of the route tree in general open, like sideline outs and comebacks.

I agree with this but I do think we aren't likely to see a Cam Newton era pass bombing in the cards. I don't think that's really the structure of Canales offense at all.

Oh absolutely not.

And we’ll see. I definitely remember more of a vertical element in Tampa on top of the never ending mesh routes.

Jameis started 7 games last year and had 2,120 yards passing with 13 TDs.

Bryce has started 7 games this year and has 1,288 yards passing with 11 TDs.

If you don't see what Jameis, even with all his faults, can bring to this team because of his very live arm, then you're fooling yourself or just don't want to see it.

Jameis was 2-5 last year. -64 scoring differential, and his overall TD/turnover differential was 1:1. That's terrible.

Andy really looked like he didn't want to be out there this past week.. he looked like "What am I doing (what is the play?) and why am I here?" As I said in the game thread he looked checked out.

Well that should be directly tied to the coach and GM, whether it's him not being prepared or employing someone who doesn't have any drive left.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
