I'll take Jones on a prove it deal but start talking average QB pay and it's probably going to end closer to how it did in NY. They can spend that extra 20 million elsewhere. And he did play well on his prove it year there too, that's how he got his extension he couldn't live up to.

Some guys are better in that range before their own pay strangles what gives them their best chance at succeeding.

His coaching looks good too but I would still be mighty careful with the extension they are probably looking at for him.

If you are talking about how a huge salary would impact the team’s ability to build with quality players, due to the financial burden it imposes, I am in unqualified agreement

If you mean because the pressure of justifying it affects his performance, I would not swallow that pill unquestionably.
He was in NYC which is the nastiest and more pressure packed media market in the league, and just won’t face the same ‘blood in the water’ viciousness in Indianapolis (or here).

I thought I knew that guy was a good gamble to be rehabbed.and wished we had open minded people making the calls here.

granted you have to have some baseline talent which he has but he has good coaching there

dont think he would do as good elsewhere

That's the coach I wanted well above Reich. He and Stroud would probably be pretty good together

He would probably be balling out in San Fran or Detroit too as some examples.

Undoubtedly, he wouldn't play nearly that well here.

Well anyone is going to look good next to Brian Daboll, who is the worst head coach in the NFL.

It's the first and the second is the inevitable with thr first being met. Dude has 2 good years and both in contract years too.

Pretty sure Tepper wanted BY regardless of the coach. Unfortunately for Panthers fans. I am confident Reich did not want BY.

Seemed very obvious that Frank didn’t want Bryce to be selected.
And having put Bryce on him, Tepper compounded the error by ignoring Frank’s also obvious strong desire to sit him at first because of his atrocious footwork and just general unreadiness.

poo show ensues.

I think the second is less than inevitable, yet still possible of course.
That was kind of a circus in NYC. With a strong staff and the experience he has gotten out of his NYG time, it could be different.

Add Daniel Jones to a growing list of redemption stories including Darnold and Baker.  Ironically he could have been picked up by anyone

Imagine being the valedictorian for your Ivy League university. Perfect grades, massively well done final projects, research grants and countless mentions in the newspapers and on TV for the strides you made.

And there are only 32 employers out there that can hire you and make use of you. Now imagine that the worst businesses, the ones with the least resources and most chaotic workplaces get first dibs on you.

Trumpian dystopia? Nope. The NFL draft. Killing young QBs since day 1.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
