Bryce youngs first year stats 2877 yards 11td 10 ints 5.2ypa 11fumbles

With the eye test I think all of them looked better than byoung, looking at first few starts.  Panthers have stuck by byoung for 3 years even though its debatable whether they should or not.  I think all of them have had moments where they looked just as good as young has, young has had alot more chances to show his moments.  If you look at the entire stats of them they are not as good as youngs entire 3 years.  Do I want any of them to start for the panthers not at all.  Young sucks and they suck.  Hopefully young proves me wrong and I eat my words as the panthers go deep into the playoffs.

Wait why are we judging rookie Bryce vs them and not current Bryce I don’t understand fr.

Rookie Bryce is indeed up there with the great Jim Clausen but tbf was also on the worst offense ever

Top 11 QBs getting paid, male more than 50 million a year.

Bryce's 5th year option looks like a deal at only 25 million.

Picking.up his 5th year is a no trainer for the franchise.

Do you think his play warrants $25m a year?

If the rookie season were predominantly an anomaly your point would have more weight. But Bryce Young has started the season three years in a row with let's just be honest here. Some of the worst QB play we have ever seen as a franchise. And that's saying something.

I'm hoping for a miracle from him to finish the season though.

I mean yeah that’s a fact. Truly awful starts all 3 seasons. But he’s really shown some good stuff since the first few weeks. He’s also shown some bad. One thing I’ve really liked is he’s majorly improved his deep accuracy lately. I’ve really enjoyed seeing the vertical downfield pass return.

It would definitely be a miracle for him to string together 4 good games in a row. That would really surprise me.

Here is a good discussion from the guys at the ringer about qbs that could be on the move in the offseason and which teams may need new qbs.   They go in depth about Bryce and the panthers, his trade value etc.  They are not high at all on bryce, like the others (Mike kay, person, Fowler) the only value bryce has at this point is his cheap contract.

Steven Ruiz who also works for the ringer, and is a panthers fan, is not a big fan of Bryce either. I appreciate them not being blinded by two good games and ignoring the horrific ones. Seems kinda important especially when dealing with the fifth year and possible extension.

Is this the same Mike Kaye that watches every practice and said Andy Dalton would’ve blown out the Dolphins only for Dalton to come out a few weeks later and get blown out by the Bills?

Yeah he sure seems to know what he’s watching…

good stuff

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
