Did Trey Lance ever get a real shot?

I get this but I also think we'll never know exactly how Lance would have looked developing with Shanahan, longer term - he didn't look atrocious in his couple starts a few years ago for him, but he also was clearly a worse option. He was very raw. He's still only 25, and it does seem lately some of these guys right their career older than they used to. 

I doubt he is the answer but I am of the mind we still knock on every door as it were at least scouting wise (I know we're all good at scouting QBs, heh)

I dont think Lance is or isn't the solution, but we're never going to find one if we don't even kick some tires. Try him out. If he sucks, let him walk. It really is that simple.

Yeah we need to sort through *all* the options.
He may not be it but the guys in SF thought enough of his potential to give up 3 1sts. 
He should be on the target list unless they have someone they like better.

If he's available he's probably at least able to move the ball with his athleticism as a backup. That's probably why he's hanging around in the NFL still.

I am here to tell you, it can 100% get worse so that's not a smart thing to say or put on us as a franchise.

And we thought enough of Bryce Young to give up pretty close to that.

I'm not in favor of fixing our mistake by turning to someone that's available because someone else made the same mistake we did

Just out of curiosity but how can it get worse then bryce.   You telling me there is someone that can throw for less then 170 yards a game and more ints?

Sounds more like Trey Lance just had the bad luck to have these freak injuries at the wrong time. I really don't think he has  long term history of being injury prone.

The Panthers need to let AndyDdalton go and try obtaining Trey Lance,in my opinion to compete with or replace Bryce Young.

The L.A. Chargers obtained Trey Lance and he became their #2 QB , so undoubtly they don't agree with you.

Using our own mistake to minimize someone else's mistake doesn't make for a good argument.

Lance is not a starter. Doubt he ever will be.

I am not here to argue for a particular guy as I haven’t researched any of them. It is the beginning of a culling process and zi think he should be included in it.
