Panthers need new fans

Online culture skews overwhelmingly negative. People use the internet to offload their anger and disappointment because people don't want to hear that crap in real life.

That being said, there are some people on here who are more frustrated than happy when the Panthers win, especially if Bryce has a good game. They would prefer Bryce play awful, we lose out and draft or sign a new QB, than Bryce leads us with good play to a division title and we pick up his 5th year extension. Why? They will say it's because they KNOW Bryce is incapable of being a good QB and say it's better long term for the Panthers to move on sooner than later. But the reality is that they've staked their ego so strongly to that opinion that they can't stomach being wrong. And if that is more important to you than the Panthers success, you're probably not a real fan. But I think there's only a few people like that. I do think most Bryce "haters" would happily eat crow and go buy a Bryce jersey if he starts averaging 300 yards per game

I think it is safe to say the majority of non-casual fans are not pleased with the Bryce Young career.  Now, where you rank on the displeasure scale can vary….

whack are the fans who shows up loudly every 8th game or whatever the ratio is where Bryce isn’t pointless to gloat about him

He played great yesterday, almost perfect.  Having said that there is absolutely nothing he can do for the rest of the season that would convince me that this is his job.  Competition has to be brought in.  The QB room has to be elevated.  His up and mostly down performances have to be driving the staff bonkers.

It's taken me awhile to just enjoy the Ws because we've done so many years without a winning record. BY still needs to prove himself to be consistent, but yesterday was truly nice to see.

That being said, you can't tell people how to react. Especially the oldheads that have seen more misery than joy with this team. It's gonna take sustained winning with this group before this message board is back to a lighter tone.

Bryce has proven he can have a game here and there. He hasn't proven he can have any type of consistency whatsoever.

The people you're calling clueless keep saying the same thing. Bryce needs to play consistently for an entire season. That's it. Bryce had a great game today. He's also played some of the worst games I've ever seen this year.

You can be a football fan and recognize in what is realistically a contract year we need consistent play at a higher level to determine if Bryce is worth 45m a year. It's pretty simple really.

And there’s a lot more that goes into consistent QB play than just the QB especially when it comes to Bryce

He’s 24 years old in 3 year with year 1 being a complete throw away year. He’s still seeing new things and outside of the fumbles (which every QB has) there’s not a ton of wtf head scratching moments. You’re seeing Young make progress and the only people that can’t see that are the ones that care more about being right

This board thinks a WR taking a ball over the middle and turning it upfield is asking too much. A few times yesterday with Coker and Sanders they failed to pick up 1st downs when they should have. To draft a QB like Young and surround him with guys with little to no YAC ability is beyond stupid. Like I said, eventually this kid will go to a proper situation and be just fine. Hopefully it’s in Carolina because there aren’t many other QBs that are walking into this situation and doing much more.

I do agree that the looming contract situation does complicate things

Bryce to me shouldn’t even be part of a competition.  Too much bias and egg on people’s faces.  In house dynamics get weird.  Bryce isn’t the guy.  When that is known….you part with them.

At this point, it’s pretty wild to call Bryce’s rookie year a throw away year and wipe it from his resumes   It went horrible….in large part…..because of Bryce.

Coker fought hard for yards yesterday... There was one play I hoped for him to get a first down but a lot of that is scheme and where balls are thrown. When an offense isn't stressing opponents deep is there's lots of people to gang tackle intermediate yardages.

The problem most of the year with YAC has been how Bryce floats balls.  It allows defenders to close. We've seen it time and again... But on the YAC discourse Bryce has pretty much half his yards this season from YAC which is pretty much spot on for the players with the most YAC. He's just thrown for very little because... Well yeah.

Happy for him and his performance yesterday. Something to build on for sure

I don't know why we'd throw away Bryce's first year when statistically it fits well with quite a few of his games this year and last, even when we're winning.

I want to see extended success this year and I'll be happy to keep him (albeit with different people behind him, please!)

The vikings are already talking about moving on from JJ because of his horrendous play.  Do I agree, not sure, but the point is teams see the product and dont wait 3 seasons to make a call

I mean, his 2nd and 3rd seasons pretty much confirm him as the primary issue his rookie year.  Year 2 and 3 contain all the imploding play and pointlessness that made his rookie year what it was….with now a random good game here or there mixed in.

people didn’t want Bryce to be horrific….so they scapegoated Frank and company who got fugged.  Frank is NFL average and it was seem a safe place for a rookie for a reason.  bryce couldn’t do basics in a real offense and imploded the ship
