Official Week 12: Panthers @ 49ers Gameday Thread

I see 2 ways this will play out. Panthers come out laser focused and aggressive and I like their chances… or they come out lost and unprepared and get SMOKED. I don’t see an in between.

The difference makers on D will be Moehrig and Cherelus. If alligator arms appear for a second week in a row… that’ll be huge. I don’t care about unnecessary roughness call early in the game if it means setting the tone. Purdy needs to do us a solid and toss up a few hospital balls.

Offense it’s everybody, but especially Tmac, Bryce and Coker. Coker could have a really big game tonight as I can see him being very underestimated. They’re going to sell out to stop the run. They know if they don’t, Rico and Chuba will wreck poo.

The petty in me wants Shanahan to feel like he just pooed a peach seed after tonight is over. I haven’t forgotten the 2016 beatdown in Atl when I had to in person witness Julio go off for 300.

What if they just come out…..and are basically the 2025 Carolina Panthers? I think that has the highest odds.   Which isn’t laser focused or lost and unprepared.  It’s okay defense paired with a run game and meh pass attack.

I think they get down early.  Sort of slowly work back into it. .

I so badly want it to happen that way, but week in and week out in big games this is how it’s been. Dallas. GB. And then the Saints suck feast. Big games. Wild variability in what team shows up.

I literally just put this in another thread. I added Chubba, Rico and Horn to the Moehrig, Cherelus, and Coker sentiment tho

Has there been a single Panthers related pregame segment?  They’ve talked about us a little bit but it looks like all the production pieces are about SF.

Only when they’re talking poo. Andy Dalton looks like a painter? Whatever that means

    • I'm looking at the schedule and I see a 10+win season easy.  I think Carolina goes undefeated in the division.  I also believe that the Bears, Bengals, Lions, Browns, Steelers are very winnable.  Revenge game with phillips and the eagles could be a win.  Honestly only 2 games I see as chalking up a L to off the bat is the Seahawks and Broncos.
    • I guess so. Don't think I was involved with previous discussions.  Tepper is one of the newest owners in the NFL. Dan is going into his 3rd season as a GM - ever. Dave is going into his 3rd season as a HC - ever. Before becoming a HC, he was an OC/playcaller for one season total. Idzik is about to go into his 1st year as a play caller - ever. WRs are rookies, sophomores and 3rd year guys - though the experienced 3rd year guys are XL and Coker (who has missed a ton of games). TEs are guys going into their 2nd and 3rd seasons, and Tommy Tremble - though Sanders has missed a ton of games. QB has played 3 years. Chuba is an experienced RB, but Brooks and Etienne have taken very little snaps at the position. O-line is more experienced vets with some talent - which is HUGE. Need them to stay healthy. I mean the offense is very young in every aspect except O-line. You see it differently?
