I think Geno fits.  Not that I want that. They got history.  He fits the scheme.   It's why he worked in Seattle and only Seattle.  

I also don't think Canales is some QB guru.  I think the NFL is about fit.  He coached in places where the QBs fit the scheme.  He doesn't now. 

I've been hammering the fit mantra since the day we drafted Bryce.  He has never fit anything we have done.  He doesn't fit much.  And you aren't making him fit and work in Frank's or Dave's O.

This reads as someone trying to suggest changes while treading lightly so Daddy Tepper doesn’t come down too hard on them.  Because flatly, the problem is Bryce.  I don’t think Canales is a perfect coach, but you can see the limitations in what can be called, what is called, and the amount of times Bryce fugs up plays all by himself.  Someone brought up the bootlegs being useless because there is always a free defender rushing - think about how different that play looks with a 6’2”+ QB with a strong arm and mobility.  I can’t count the number of times Bryce has thrown and missed bc he can’t see, it gets deflected, he chucks it away, or his patented run and fumble just on bootlegs and roll outs.  By percentage of those plays per player I have ever watched, Bryce has more negative plays WITHOUT A fuging DOUBT than anyone I have ever watched before.  Like an uncanny ability to fug up the simplest of things.  I have never seen anything like it.  And then, as I mentioned in the other thread, when you string those seemingly one-off plays together, and those stack over the course of a game, poo looks really disjointed.  It is Bryce.  Enough of this nebulous ass “something’s afoot!” bullshit.

We're talking about a #1 overall pick 40+ games into his career on his second coaching staff. There's a reason everyone in the local media walks on egg shells with any remote level of Bryce Young criticism. David Tepper would probably see to it their press credentials with the team were revoked if not.

I mean, selling Bryce/Canales as "fine" with the freaking Jets game?  Bryce had 138 yards and they were horrible there.  First Atlanta game? Bryce had 121 yards and couldn't move the ball (they didn't need to but still tried).  Phins? Bryce was horrible and Rico carried us out of the hole w/ an all-time performance. 

There aren't 3 blocks the games fall fairly even into.  It's been largely all bad and subpar play from Bryce and Canales.   You basically give him the one Atlanta game as the great one.   One okay game with Dallas (that was all Rico eating that game and Bryce getting some scraps off that).  The rest bad/subpar. 

The games fall overwhelming into the bad/subpar tier....and that's not what he is portraying.  He is still putting some spin on there Bryce/Canales shouldn't be getting.

He has 2 good games in his entire career. Atlanta this year and GB his rookie year. Every other game was average/subpar or awful. That’s it

I would be more generous than that, and have never wanted anything to do with him. Poison pill that he is. 

I probably give maybe 4 actual good games and about the same number of okay, not his usual lose the game for us games.

Bryce has beaten falcons 4 times and rest of league 8 times. All by 3 or less or in OT except for Jets 13-7. Bryce had only beaten two playoff teams ever Houston and GB

      Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.

      Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
