Canales is going nowhere.

Bryce's fifth year option is all but guaranteed to get picked up.

If you're against either of those things happening, you are just... plain... sh-t out of luck 😐

I'd add that any coaching staff changes are likely gonna be due to people getting other opportunities.

Front office changes? Maybe but I'm not making any predictions.

This is just how it is, guys. Gotta be real.

I was actually going to start a thread like this, but Bryce-centric, as I never thought Canales was going anywhere (or Evero after what the defense is putting on the field this season). That being said, I wasn't going to say that Bryce s fifth year option is essentially guaranteed. I think that it's getting there, but the remaining games do matter. I still think that he needs a healthy dose of competition. Perhaps Drew Allar if he falls enough.

But I don't think Bryce is going anywhere before 2027. He's inconsistent as fug, but it is what it is... including maddening to watch from week to week. You never know what you're going to get.

Look dis team(dood) meme

Honestly just WTF doods is all you can really say it wouldn't be believed if it were told to you only verbally what happened(happens) with this team. Much less if it was in a movie and was said to be inspired by a true story people wouldn't think it really happened.

If we pick up the 5th year, Morgan needs to be shown the door.

I havent been to a home game since 2019...... It is time.  I am getting tickets to the bucs game and would encourage you all to do the same.  I will support Bryce the best I can the rest of his time here.  If we are going to play tough big boy football I will support that 100%

Canales has shown the potential to be a good coach. It's the very high highs and very low lows usually immediately following those highs that have been an issue. In that regard the exact issue applies to Bryce Young.

But. Take care of business in our division and virtually all that talk will fall to the wayside.

Right now this team desperately needs to shed fluke status and cement consistent big time convincing wins to finish the season. Beating the Saints and sweeping the Bucs will unequivocally achieve that. They control their own destiny here. We need to come out of the bye on a mission. We cannot get comfortable again and our franchise does have an iffy history with bye weeks. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

I grant that anything can happen, but the fifth year not getting picked up is extremely hard for me to imagine right now.

Likewise, I'm a critic of Evero, but I've realized outside of him getting a head coaching job (which is possible) he ain't going anywhere.

Bryce Young is a bad QB and there is no sane reason to pick up his 5th year.  This is just the standard insane wild takes that go from one end of the spectrum to the complete opposite on a weekly basis

reality is, he has been the worst QB in the NFL over the last 3 years.  He stinks.  OP can agree again after the next game and rinse and repeat

Why?   You are not doing a good job explaining your opinion

I think all of Scot’s points stand except the 5th year option being guaranteed.  If you’re Dan Morgan or Canales, are you worried about letting Bryce walk and facing him as an opponent?  I would be licking my chops to play him.  I think that should be the measure of whether you lock him in.  FO would be remiss if they believe they can’t find multiple QBs out there right now who are an upgrade over Bryce.  If they want to keep him and bring in legit competition so be it.  What we absolutely cannot do is go into another season with him being coddled and the only option to legitimately start.

    • Sure it does, maybe not every position and not every draft.  You have to admit the hit rate goes down the further in the draft you get.  Would you more readily find a generational talent at the #2 pick or #19 pick?  High picks are considered "busts" if they doesn't pan out, whereas guys drafted later don't have that level of scrutiny upon them.  Different expectation levels.  If Styles does indeed go #2, I already listed the rarefied air that he would be in.  Maybe he doesn't set the League on fire, but my gut feeling is he does.  Again, you don't take an off-ball LB #2 if he is just a 'really good' player.
    • To illustrate my point, I watched (and commented on the Huddle) that Rozeboom would often wait a full second (or close to it) before taking his first step.  I assume that he probably had issues with false steps, a faulty practice that can take an ILB out of the gap completely.  Watch Luke and you see a step with the snap, and rarely was it a false step.  Rozeboom may have had 100 tackles (speculating) but initial contact was 2-3 yards on the defensive side of the ball.  Luke's 100 tackles were made 1-2 yards from the LOS.  Over the course of a year, Luke was much more productive (more fumbles, fewer long gainers, more OL penalties, fewer first downs, etc) that Rozeboom, but on the stat sheet, they both had 100 tackles.  In fact, Rozeboom's inefficiency kept him on the field more (more first downs, fewer OL penalties, turnovers, and punts) so he should have MORE tackles.   I would like to see stats that break down those things.   For example again, Josh Norman was slow--4.68 or so at CB.  However, his anticipation speed was incredible.  He made as many plays as a 4.4 CB.  I had one coach (college--later became the head coach at WCU) tell me that slower players have to use their brains more to still be around.  Elite athletes can just get by on their physical superiority.  He added, "Rarely does a football player run full speed.  Most of the time, they are not, so the 40 time is misleading stat.  Smart players overcome shortcomings--when the elite athlete becomes average (slows with age, advances in level of competition) they struggle against smarter (football IQ) competition.
    • Obviously tongue in cheek hyperbole. But we do not need a first round RB to compete for a championship. We need intelligent roster building. That to me is the complete opposite of intelligent roster building because it is a prime resource at a devalued plug and play position when we have needs across the defense.
