There is a chance the FO has improved(not convinced) but there will never be a moment that David Tepper will ever be a better owner than Jerry Richardson. Tepper needs to set his sights smaller and try not to be worse than Woody Johnson or Dan Snyder.

Tepper needs to stay out of the decision making process until the wheels fall off. As long as there is noticeable improvement then he has no need for intervention. Even then he needs to talk to Morgan to find out what's going on. No Monday morning meetings with the coach.

Richardson liked to reward players for past performance, even if they were fading.

Smart teams pat for what they're going to do, not what they already did.

Evero is a lot like fox. He keeps hi best CB on the strong side of the offensive alignment. The defense is setup for Jackson to play the weak side and Scott to play deep. Defensive coordinators can be a rigid bunch.

Evero is in the same area as Bryce for me right now. Not a fan, but expect him to be retained.

Difference with Evero though is some team could give him a head coaching job. And who knows? Maybe his coaching skill set will be well suited to such a role.

Well it was on JR but not for that reason. 
In 2009 JR fuged the cap to tag Peppers trying to force him to stay, or keep him from leaving. However you want to put it. 
 

That is the year Jake got that extension. That was totally connected IMO. Moving money. And you always reward the guy who will redo his deal, or traditionally that is a part of it. 
 

And why Peppers wanted to leave, well that could have been on JR too. I think this was after JR publicly called him out wanting him to be a leader. It didn’t go over well with Pep. 
That’s how I remember it anyway. Maybe there was more to the why of him wanting to go. It wasn’t money though.

AZ was Tommy Jone grabbing and shaking us so that no one could explain it away and we still didn’t listen.

REAL dream scenario:

Beat the Saints

Beat the Bucs with Baker Mayfield. He hurts his shoulder again last play of game.

Beat the Hawks with Sam Darnold.

Beat the Bucs with Teddy Bridgewater.

Get the #1 Seed (still technically possible)

Beat the Lions with Kyle Allen (Jared Goff injured during practice)

NFC Championship - Beat the Bears with Caleb Williams

Super Bowl - Beat the Texans with CJ Stroud

Bryce Young is the MVP and has exercised all of his demons and proved he is the true franchise.

      I see Bryce's development this way: He improved when his supporting cast improved.  TMac and Dowdle saved his arse last year, but in fairness, most good QBs have good WRs and good RBs--and good OLs.   The 2025 OL underperformed, actually. They were above average, but they should have been elite if you consider the salary cap.   As soon as we signed Lewis and Hunt, I started thinking, "That's not sustainable.  With Ickey about to get paid a LT salary, Moton and Hunt grabbling $50m per season combined, and Lewis around $17m--that would be nearly $100m and the Center just walked.  Yikes.  What does that mean?  Rico walks, Mays walks, and we do not have a top 5 WR on a second contract.  We do not have an elite TE, and only 1 is on a modest second contract. And now Bryce will demand $50m for his incremental rise to mediocrity?   So when we sign Bryce, we will get weaker at other positions.  Hunt, Moton, maybe Ickey and Lewis, will all be casualties--that is the right move regardless (not sure yet about Ickey, but he was not elite) Bryce is one lucky, entitled camper.  No competition since being drafted, and he lost his job for a while to the aging clipboard holder.  Now we are bringing in UDFAs and busts to compete with him.

      Probably not.  If we are taking a QB, it would be a prospect to replace Bryce and not a flyer type player.  I can't say for sure, but I doubt he would have cracked the top 3-4 QBs even if he were to play this coming season.

      The Giants, Cardinals  and Dolphins should have moved on, but they didn't and ended up cutting their QB early into a monster second contract and had to eat a TON of dead cap money.
