Canales and Darnold

Wondering what could have been if Canales had the chance to work with Darnold. Obviously, Sam has all the tools to be a franchise QB, just needed to get his head straight.

Did they give up on Sam to soon? Seems like he was playing better before they let S.W walk. Sam would have florished under D.C probably, but we shall never know. Darnold would have allowed Canales to use the entire play book including QB sneaks.

Looks like a big miscalculation to not give him a contract.

to me the post would suggest Sam Darnold was good last night because Seattle won in a wild game.   Which is what we do with Bryce Young.

Sam Darnold didn't play well last night.  Which is how he trends, goes to a new team.....looks okay and becomes classic Sam Darnold down the stretch.  Last 6 or 7 weeks old bad Sam is coming out a lot (and then a weird Atlanta game mixed in lol).

Similar situation but that would be a better version than what we currently have. Sam isn't a franchise QB but he is a good bridge guy. Either Seatle finds a young guy to groom or they have hit their ceiling. They 100% can't put it on Sam's shoulders and expect to win but the team needs to carry less with him at QB to win vs what this team has to do with Bryce.

My take on Darnold was always that he was fine with a good offensive line but would wilt under pressure with a poor line (Jets and Panthers). Seattle began the year w/ a pretty bad oline and they improved somewhat but Darnold is showing he is a pretty good qb. Imagine what the Panthers would be today with Darnold and without Bryce Young and all the wasted draft picks to get him.

Sam Darnold is a "pretty good QB" on the Bryce Young QB Scale.

On the regular NFL Starting QB scale, he is bottom half to bottom third.

I am down with this. I genuinely dislike him as a head coach. He needs as much development as Bryce does.

Canales was never a good coach. He was a bad OC in TB. He had their offense in the bottom third of the league, dead last in rushing. Liam Coen took over and they’re top 5 in points, passing, and rushing.

He certainly isn’t a head coach, and he’s not a good OC either

    • "If you could change any one instant in Carolina Panther history, ... just ONE, ... what would it be? Initial gut reaction when I first thought of this question is Kasay kicks it in bounds on the kickoff, but unfortunately I still think New England wins that game even with that My second instinct was pulling Bene out before he breaks his leg in the playoffs. My crackpot theory is if he never gets hurt we win the superbowl. I refuse to go back and watch the game but at some point Peyton throw an absolute duck that should have been pick 6'd. but because we were on our like fifth outside corner he was slow to the ball. this would have completely flipped that game because I'm pretty sure Denver scored that drive and the next one was the Cam sack fumble
    • The Patriots win the 2015 AFC Championship game.
    • 1a. Drafted Tom Brady in the 5th round. 1b. Might be an unpopular opinion, but when Reid was let go in Philly, k would have fired Rivera and brought him in. It was obvious he was an offensive genius. Coaches like Reid don't come available often.
