Cam gets defensive in an interview

During the interview/presser on NFL network, one reporter asked Cam about the stolen computer, 4 counts of cheating at UF, and STEALING FROM TEAMMATES' LOCKERS. Cam did not deny any of the comments, only saying that he is focused on the future. I had not heard of the locker thefts before the comment.

If this comes out as verified, I don't know of many teams that will want him. You want your veterans wondering if this kid is gonna steal from them?

He didn't confirm any of it either, yet you're assuming that he's admitting guilt.

All he needs to do is answer those questions in the private interviews. He owes nothing to the NFL Newtwork, ESPN, or any of us, because we're not the one's investing our money in him.

That's where you're dead wrong, fans spend countless dollars on their teams, jerseys and numerous other items.

I assumed he admitted guilt? No, you assumed what I assumed. Find my words that tell you that. If reading and interpreting is difficult, how can you trust your ability to verify the character of someone you never met? He didn't deny such a specific allegation and referred to his mistakes as a whole. I would be willing to bet that the reporter knew something to have such a specific question, and that is why I asked. I don't have any details, nor do people who are still defending his every action. You can bet teams will ask him for a specific response and will not accept a refusal to acknowledge specifics questions. He wants people to invest millions in him, he better lay it on the table.

I am just trying to find out more information because it was something I had not heard. Nobody accused him of anything Again.

Are the huggers switching from a "conspiracy theory" approach to an "It is none of your business" approach? Oh, by the way, if you are a PSL owner, you are invested in the players we choose.

Wasn't his press conference it was his "private" team interview.

I will only say two things and then let the anti-Cam guys have fun with this.

Without context this is hard to take seriously.

Let me ask you this. How many times has your wife accused you of being defensive when you really weren't?? Happens to me almost every day.

Without context hard to know what to make of this report.

The second thing is whoever the "source" is, is an a-hole. If you were in the room you do not take this to the press without an agenda IMO. Otherwise what is the sources motivation?? He would have none except to hurt Cam.

We have been talking a lot about smoke screens lately. How do we not know that this was the Cardinals trying to manipulate the draft to get Cam to slide to 5??? Why not?? Who knows??

Take this with a grain of salt would be my advice.

Thank you..... and another great post by Teeray.

Winning puts butts in the seat, people wouldn't show up to see Cam ride the pine for 2-3 years while he learns to play QB in the NFL.

Give me someone who has a chance of starting day one.

Just how exactly do you figure Cam would "ride the pine for 2-3 years"? Is Jimmy Clausen/Tony Pike/Matt Moore going to beat him out in training camp year after year?

At this point Clausen would benefit the same if not more than Newton by sitting on the bench behind him. There are no FA QBs that are going to be able to keep up with the high octane offenses of the NFC South and NFC.

Cam Newton would dwarf Clausen in OTAs and TC and very well could be starting from day one. Imagine Jimmy being able to pick up chunks of yardage outside the pocket when his line broke down last year? Cam has more than an arm he can move the chains with (and I'm not even sure Clausen has an arm).

Vet FA is how.

Cam can't take a snap from under center yet, Moore and Clausen are significantly ahead of Cam, like it or not.

Keep in mind he has pointed to that year as the turning point in his life. he admits to making mistakes at Florida and claims he has decided to better his life because of them.

hell maurice clarett is avalible, lets give him a shot too. he says he has cleaned up now and admits to all his mistakes to boot....

    • All true, Stafford and Mccvay were both talking about "retiring" during those future picks too, I member. In my computer when you make future trade, I feel you have to factor in the worst case or close to it from your side. The big issue for the panthers, maybe even now is that they have not proven they can draft well enough to trade. I know that Dan and company have not traded future picks and they seem to always want 7-8 picks overall. They like to trade 3 picks for 3 picks or 2 for 2.   It would have been great to flip BB for that haul and use those Rams picks instead of the first overall pick...... Verse wise, Jesus what a beast....... Garrett is the top dawg and all, but man this is rough for me. I also noticed this about the panthers they are pedo bears, they like dem young. So a 25 year old verse would have gotten gigged with the panthers. Even with NIL and 6th year, and even coofus fallback, panthers prefer younger players. Monroe Freeling (Round 1, Pick 19 | OT, Georgia): 21 years old Lee Hunter (Round 2, Pick 49 | DT, Texas Tech): 22 years old (estimated) Chris Brazzell II (Round 3, Pick 83 | WR, Tennessee): 22 years old Will Lee III (Round 4, Pick 129 | CB, Texas A&M): 21-22 years old (estimated) Sam Hecht (Round 5, Pick 144 | C, Kansas State): 21-22 years old (estimated) Zakee Wheatley (Round 5, Pick 151 | S, Penn State): 22 years old (estimated) Jackson Kuwatch (Round 7, Pick 227 | LB, Miami OH): 22-23 years old   Tetairoa McMillan, WR (Arizona) — Age: 22 Nic Scourton, EDGE (Texas A&M) — Age: 20 Princely Umanmielen, EDGE (Ole Miss) — Age: 21 Trevor Etienne, RB (Georgia) — Age: 20 Lathan Ransom, SAF (Ohio State) — Age: 23 Cam Jackson, DT (FL)- age 22 Mitchell Evans, TE (ND)- age 22 Horn-22   Fitterererere just turned out to be a awful hire, too green, too willing to please, no sense of what talent looks like on teams other than Seahawks, too much pressure, didnt have the correct network of coaches and FO office people. Kick was herniay leftd him with a bare bones talent to start with and besides taking a bottom level team and improving it, he made it even worse AND trading prime draft picks to prolong the timeline to fix. People forget Dan didn't have the 1st overall pick and 39th overall(that dude looking good for bears) to repair this team. Dan could have traded that 1st overall for a proven 1k WR, 9th overall, future 1st and future 2nd......
    • When I read the OP I was thinking more of the Franchise than the league but I agree.  To me DB is the only guy right now but I could see TMac being on the list.
    • “All-timers” usually stand out early and often.  There really isn’t much wiggle room.  Not many of the greats magically figured it out 3-4 years in.  Franchise greats is another story.  They don’t even have to be all that good to become a legend.  One play or game can make a guy a hometown hero.
