He's not elite because he barely attempts them. Its why we lost to the Saints twice. They were daring us to throw and he didn't want to. Wake me up when he actually beats defenses daring him to throw

8th most attempts in 2025 means he has attempted them more than 24 other QBs this year.

5th most in 2024 means he attempted them more than 27 other QBs then.

Not sure how you can say he doesn't attempt them.

fug your lazy ass perspective.  It's beyond old. We lost to the saints because our online played like poo. Give credit to the saints defense. Oh, and the refs suck ass, although inrefuse to blame the refs for any loss.

He isn’t.  This was debunked last year and is being re-pimped.

Bryce Young only throws deep balls at a higher rate than ONE starting QB in the entire NFL.  One.

He doesn’t actually throw deep.  When he is throwing his very rare deep ball….Canales is having him doing it under very favorable conditions.   And doing such in recent weeks…..is where he once again earns this “rating”.

Actual good deep ball throwers? They throw deep. They ain’t last in attempts .  And they aren’t management into only being allowed to do in the most advantageous scenarios possible (you actually do THAT with dudes that struggle….ie Bryce Young

Just to clarify bad info.

he is not 8th most in attempts.  There is only 1 starting QB in the NFL he throws deep attempts at a higher rate than.

8th in big time throws is not a numbers that represents deep shot attempts.  Big time throws is a made up PFF stat that includes things like tight coverage on a 5 yard route to the sideline

I've said my peace Chrissy. Bryce played like garbage at home against the Saints, could get to 10 points.

I badly want Bryce to succeed so we don't waste another high pick on a QB, but he hasn't been good enough, plain and simple.

That is "big time throws" which is a dubious "stat", at best. If you look at 20+ attempts per game, he is currently at a career low.

Yeah, "big time throws" could literally be the most subjective thing on the planet. It's an insanely moronic "stat."

    • After some of the calls last year probably won't see much of a drop off
    • https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/48344034/nfl-begin-hiring-replacement-officials-given-state-negotiations-nfl-referees-association   Honestly fug these refs and their union. Resisting changes that would actually incentivize good performance and not seniority based systems. What a bunch of donkeys. Hope the replacements straight up take their jobs and never give them back. Sick of watching refs script games with no repercussions.
    • Donovan seems like highest risk to me. Lloyd and May have already established relationships with all these kids. There’s probably guys hitting the portal that they recruited from HS. And then there’s the possibility of transferring their own guys from their current teams. They’ve also been recruiting the HS kids for like the next 5 years already. Look at the Iowa coach who hit the ground running by transferring all his guys from his D2 program. Or going across sports to Cignetti transferring all his JMU guys year one then building off that to a national title year 2. Donovan is starting from square one having been in the NBA so long and he’s already 60. So you’re potentially punting year 1 for a guy you are just hoping to be a 10 year hire while you figure out how to actually develop your next home grown 20yr guy. That’s 1/10th of the time you have him, more or less at best. The hope would be that he would find some high level assistants who have been working the college recruiting trails already, but then are you giving up his ideal staff just to get a foothold in recruiting and transfers. Think Belichick year one was bad? Imagine how much worse it would be without Steve Belichicks transfer portal pulls. Hoping Mays or Lloyd are all they’re cracked up to be.
