Does anyone else need any more evidence games are managed by the NFL towards certain outcomes?

Backwards pass incorrectly blown dead and then for some reason ruled out of bounds costing Carolina prob 10 yards

Bucs defender rips Tommy Tremble’s helmet off by his face mask then proceeds to taunt him. No call.

OPI on a huge gain when McMillan and the CB were jostling for position.

Tampa TE trips over his own feet but gets the PI call.

Just demoralizing. I can’t believe watch I just watched.

If it isnt influenced, games where countless millions(billions) of dollars are at stake are being decided by the most incompetent mother fu kers on the planet.

NFL is a multi billion dollar business and these refs work part time. Most of them have other main jobs.

I really don't think I've ever blamed a loss in 30 years on the refs. You might not get one call a game here and there that typically are correctly called 99% of the time.

But there were 4, 4 absolutely critical misses, in a single game. By the time Tremble was shoved down 5 yards out of bounds without a flag I just laughed.

One of the most obviously controlled, managed by the NFL games I have ever seen in my life. This one was too obvious. They didn’t even TRY to hide it. The Panthers are not even a good team, but the refs firmly controlled this outcome exactly how it was needed. The Panthers covered the spread, and the preferred winner was nudged to victory.

Reason No. 1 I'm done with the NFL.

So the refs called the INT and flea flicker?

The games are not outright rigged as I’ve said many times. Theres no way to completely control the outcome. But some of the calls in this game were so obvious, how can you not see it? The offensive pass interference on McMillian and the defensive pass interference on Nick Scott, those were two blatant nudging calls in critical moments. The sh*t with Dowdle and the backwards pass was just making sure the game didn’t swing back towards the panthers and killed their momentum.

And in the unlikely event that stupid flea flicker resulted in six points...

Ref: Holding, No. 79, offense.
Huddle: gah damn it BRICE DUNG blowed it again!

The ability for a basketball ref to alter a game vs a football ref is ridiculously significant.

2 or 3 cheap calls against the right player and the game is forever altered, not to mention in the NFL, refs have such specific assignments to where they can only alter so much of the game if they even wanted to.

Absolute night and day when comparing the ability for a ref to put his finger on the scale with those two sports.

It’s really not that big of a difference at all assuming entire crews are receiving suggestions to influence outcomes for future tv ratings, ticket sales, etc.

A few calls one way or another and NFL referees can put someone in and take someone out of field goal position, which they did with the Dowdle, TMac, and Otton calls. Every single one of those calls either took the Panthers out of field goal position or put Tampa in field goal position. Assuming makes, you are now looking at a 20-13 Panthers win rather than a 16-14 Panthers loss. It’s really not that difficult for NFL officials to influence games.

Not to mention, Donaghy even stated that multiple referees, who he called company men were instructed to extend the 2002 Western Conference finals. If it happened/happens in the NBA then it’s happening in the NFL. And that’s with the entire crew being aware of what’s being asked of them by the league.

I think at this point it’s pretty obvious that there are certain outcomes that favor these sports leagues and to stay in good standing a lot of these company men will do whatever is necessary to assist the league in achieving their goal. Not all games are influenced and I don’t think the league cares who makes the playoffs from our division but they are glad that they will have sheep from four fanbases tuned into tomorrows game.

The Tampa/Carolina game was clearly going to be managed towards a Tampa victory due to giving a ratings boost to the Falcons/Saints game and keeping a poor ratings Panthers team out of the playoffs. The refereeing has been consistent with what I expected and I think it would be worth taking stock that the NFL is an entertainment business. They have no legal obligation to provide fair outcomes.

I warned everyone here how much worse it has gotten since sports betting apps became the norm, and here we are.

It’s unwatchable at this point.  Betting has ruined the game

    • I don't think any good HC candidate will have any interest in the Raiders unless that coach is absolutely in love with one of the QB's in this draft, and even then, I'm not sure they're taking that job. That is a team with very little going for it right now, on top of being in a division with Mahomes/Reid, Herbert/Harbaugh, Nix/Payton. The next closest division with a set up like that for the foreseeable future would probably be the NFC North, who even as good as they are, none of them are as good as any of those 3.  You could say the Bills/Patriots with Allen/Maye is better set up than the NFCN, but even then, that's still just 2 teams, not 3 like with the AFC West. And that's before even factoring in all the distractions that come along with been in Vegas. I genuinely think the Raiders job is the worst in the entire NFL right now.
    • A good QB would eat with TMac, Coker and the weapons we have. We need a QB, we need offensive line depth, and desperately, desperately need front 7 help. It's basically Derrick Brown and a bunch of JAGs. I suspect they'll go LB in the first, unless a QB unexpectedly drops.
    • Should be a shoe in, honestly. Relatively weak year though.
