Man. It seems like he’s throwing less awful picks lately. I guess not. lol

He is never going to be a QB that is super low in TO's because he lacks the abilities necessary to make a lot of throws. He shouldn't be a massive TO guy ever because he lacks the confidence to consistently challenge teams with tight window throws and downfield shots.

Bryce Young is never going to fix his mechanics. He does not have a strong enough arm to be an "arm thrower" so when his base is not set, he struggles mightily to make NFL throws.

The biggest problem with this is that he isn't a pocket QB. It's partially because he can't get clean throwing lanes, he can't see over lineman and he also lacks the confidence in the pocket necessary to do so.

So, he is a scrambling, arm throwing QB that doesn't have the arm required to make NFL throws.

There is no potential path to success like this. None.

Other than build a SB caliber team around him and ask him to make a few plays per game while limiting turnovers.  Acknowledge the limitations Bryce has and move on or fortify around him trudging forward.  We have these two paths, which one will the Panthers' front office take?

He's just not a starting NFL QB......Solid backup? Maybe

Until people accept that then this team goes nowhere.

Kyle Shanahan and Lynch leveraged HEAVY to get Trey Lance, realized he sucked and not a starting caliber QB, cut ties, built a team.  Consistently being a competitor and thats what its suppose to look like.  Stop trying to fit a square peg into a round whole, not going to work. Cut your losses and move on.......

This is the only answer! You have to move on. The only thing about Bryce that has improved is the team around him. He aint it. A real team admits the error and moves on. Panthers however just keep trying to make it work. Unless we cut ties this off season, we are going to continue to struggle. Id be willing to bet this team would have won the South weeks ago with any one of more than half of other teams backup QBs. Ever since week 9 or 10 teams have completely sold out on stopping us from running the ball. Because Bryce can't consistently beat them. Even when he's mildly successful they dont back off. They just stick with the gameplan of stopping the run.

I know #BryceYoung has come a long way from his rookie year but until he cleans up his feet in the pocket & learns to set strong & ready at top of drop, it will be really hard to take that next step! It causes him to be late & miss a lot of throws & with his limited arm strength, playing late is not a winning proposition a lot of the time!

Best analysis I've heard.

You are asking for the 2015 Denver Broncos with the benefit of facing the 2015 Carolina Panthers coaching staff.

2015 Shell of Peyton Manning is the only QB in the Super Bowl era demonstrably worse than Bryce Young.

Has he ever had a good first half besides the fluke falcons game? It feels like if he has a decent game, he doesn’t do anything until the fourth.

Most of yardage against the Cardinals this season(328 yds) was in the 3rd/4th quarter when the Cards were melting down.

Here is what you are looking for. Dave goes on 4th down a lot most with manageable yards to go.  I think defenses are caught in a defend the run first, don't get burned deep scenario.  With a chunk of open field beyond the  8 or 9 man front, Bryce has feasted.

A couple more telling stats:

image.png.ba5fb35aaee6b5403dd64dc3c21fc9b6.png

He's manged 273 yards when ahead all season.  This means two things, he can't muster enough offense to pull away from opponents, thus we get the "refs rigged it" nonsense all year.  He plays no better when the playbook is wide open with a lead, actually worse.

Also, Bryce needs a short field.  As evidenced yesterday, we managed one score that the defense did not gift a possession in the shadow of the Bucs' end zone.

This one is the most condemning of them all.

Awesome thank you, I think we lead the league in fourth down attempts and probably conversions. I was wondering about first half stats when we are always down as opposed to late second half, when he usually does something.

his mechanics won’t change, they simply will not.  He reverts to them anytime he thinks he has pressure or can’t see the field

young is a symptom that is now a problem

The Panthers, in typical Panthers style under Tepper, picked the wrong QB and gave up decent players and the future for him

…and exacerbated it post Rivera, with keeping the old GM, then fired the old GM, picked the wrong new GM who kept the old scouts, and series of head coaches to compliment giving up the house for that wrong qb.

When it is said the ‘selecting wrong qb sets  a team back 5 years, they aren’t kidding, and that’s not considering what was given up for wrong qb

don’t know what you want to be, just throw poo to a wall..,have it will stick.

It really is that simple

Simply put, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig,and the path out of the pig sty is getting harder to find and here we are.

I felt nothing yesterday… 30 years  following this franchise    yet again, a GM from the old regime, a coach on no one else’s radar and a qb that won’t be in the league in 2 to 3 years.    History repeats itself

the combination of Canales as HC And OC is a disaster.

ask yourselves, if Canales was just the OC, would everyone including Tepper, not be calling for his head

the mistakes Canales makes are egregious. Sometimes the players bail him out, yesterday, they didn’t

He's not even the 4th best QB in the NFC South.

Let that sink in.
