Trubisky is not better than Bryce. Trubisky’s prime was about the same as current Bryce.

What if I told you....Trubisky once threw for 200 glorious yards against the seahawks....all in one game!

At this stage in his career, Trubisky was better. Will young surpass him? It’s possible.

He doesn’t watch nor know football!  Has to be a Bama fan that followed BY here!   And sure, given enough games, maybe, and that’s a huge if!  I hope he isn’t given more games

ILB, Sonny Styles, Ohio State, 6'5, 243, intelligent and does not miss tackles.

Could also serve as pass rusher.. need to find a way to land him.

He will be long gone. Also not a player that is wise to trade up for.

In order:

QB -- starter and backup; Willis would be my target along with drafting a day 3 QB and keeping Bryce on the roster while letting all 3 battle it out in camp for each spot

Better play caller/OC (Canales has to give up play calling duties) -- Bryce's limitations definitely hurt Dave but still just some mind boggling play calling decisions throughout the season that cost us games

Pass rushers -- easily the worst pass rush of all playoff teams and one of the worst in the league

ILB -- speaks for itself

Offensive skill positions -- Of course I'd love a TE upgrade or legit WR2 and let Coker eat in the slot but I'd also be open to talent at RB; I doubt we keep Rico and Chuba was not good or worth his contract this year. We could use more offensive talent in general and whether it comes at WR, TE, or RB doesn't really matter to me. BPA at any of those positions.

I would love Malik Willis, then draft a late round guy as well maybe Chambliss. Someone at least 6'+ tall, that has an NFL arm.

This is a no brainer and would be my priority if I were Morgan.

It's going to be very interesting to see where Pitts ends up next year, but I'm not sure he's worth the risk.

Sure he had a great year, but sports are littered with examples of guys who were complete busts of high picks, only to have a breakout season in their final year of their rookie deal, sign a big contract, and then go right back to being a bust.

We still have way too many holes to take a swing on paying big money to a TE who is anything but a sure thing.

Shades of Eric Ebron but I will say watching the Falcons the last several years, Pitts has been horribly misused. He has his flaws and is no sure thing who may very well end up overpaid by quite a bit. But he has serious upside there too, and has shown it on the field in a couple seasons so far.

I was watching OSU Miami and tried to pay specific attention to him because I've seen a ton of mocks where we take him (at 16). He made a few nice plays but thought he also got pushed around and kind of phoned it in on a bunch of plays. Not gonna act like I'm a scout or that I've followed college football, but I wasn't very impressed. With us a few spots back now that we're in the playoffs I'm sure he'll be gone anyway

If we are committing to Bryce, then we need to commit defense. He’s never going to lead a prolific offense. We need to stop the other team from scoring.

-

1. cut XL because he makes me want to puke whenever he steps foot on the field.
2. trade for Vita Vea. I don’t  care what it costs. Shouldn’t be terrible because he is on the last year of his contract.

3. Trade for Myles Garrett. I don’t care what it costs.
4. sign Matt Milano at LB.

Now you have 3 guys on the DL, in their prime, all demanding double teams. That’s before you even think about the OLBs coming around the edge. Good luck to DC’s figuring that out.
Now we have a defense that can support pedestrian Bryce. Hopefully it works because we won’t have first round picks any time soon.

also, if Evero goes anywhere, and Bowles is available, then he is DC.

He is very good but unless he is an elite EDGE, trading up to where he is currently projected to go is extremely unwise.

Fair enough. Trading up has worked out horribly for us anyways.

A good QB would eat with TMac, Coker and the weapons we have. We need a QB, we need offensive line depth, and desperately, desperately need front 7 help. It's basically Derrick Brown and a bunch of JAGs. I suspect they'll go LB in the first, unless a QB unexpectedly drops.

    • To be clear, I am not advocating for drafting a WR.  As for the OTs we have met with--I am not sure how or when or where and whether or not that even matters. I can say this about OL:  Those tackles would not play much (unless there is an injury and Fano is probably going to be a guard.  Lomu seems to have slipped a bit (based on the perspectives of crackheads who publish on the interweb or broadcast from their pods.) I like Lomu.  I like Proctor--I think he is the #1 OT but the weight (he was 390) scares me.  Imagine him with $10m in his bank account at the gas station when the 16-pack of Reeses Peanut Butter Cup is right below his fingertips at the counter.  NOOOO! Blake Miller might be the most practical option, to be honest. I watched his vidoes for several minutes (not to exceed 10 because my father played for the Gamecocks when I was born) and I was impressed.   At 19?  A bit rich, but we don't know what the GMs know.   Bryce's contract is another issue.  If they decide to give him a bag of money (suicide hotline 1-800-JUMP), they are going to have to part ways with some vet contracts.  Moton, Hunt, and Lewis come to mind.  Ickey could be gone too.  So....I assume we will have a starting center by next year...
    • My original post :  Yeah man we are in better shape than the bulk of the teams in the league.   There is no goal post moving.  We have a top 15 wr room.  We have an absolute stud and a high floor guy.  Not sure why you are disparaging our guys,  So now for the offense to be unlocked we need a speed guy playmaker, this is insanity
    • 1st round WR again. This will be so great.  Imagine if we had a QB worthy of all of this. It might be something.
