The key to the game is to put it on Bryce's (and the PASSING offense's) shoulders. Instead of the running game. That will keep the Rams defense guessing, open up run lanes for Rico/Chuba, and (assuming this gets the offense into a rhythm) keep the defense fresh through all 60 minutes. The defense needs to keep Stafford off balance all game long (so it’s important that the offense stays on the field and gives the defense enough time to rest and remain fresh). We keep talking about the run game needing to get better, but that will not happen by leaning more on running; it will happen more by passing. And stick with this strategy till the end. Stop treating Bryce with kid gloves. Stop playing it safe. Take chances. Give Bryce the reins. Open up the playbook for him. Even if we lose, we will at least have some answers to some of the muddled questions about the off-season and path forward. This was his 3rd year, for goodness' sake, how much longer are we going to experiment? And if we win and go to the next round, that just improves our chances, as the next team won't know what to expect from us either (right now, they know what to expect, which is why we lose). This makes it a win-win-win all around, not just for this season, but looking ahead to the next few years.

We have an entire season that tells that is exactly how we lose.  The formula to win is a clear science at this point

we run.  We hope it is ugly.  We sit back on D and hope to capitalize on mistakes.  We ask Bryce to make about 2-3 real throws in favorable setups.   We hope in the 4th quarter we are in a one score game.

your formula is how the score would be 30-0 at the half

It’s a tough way to win games but it is what it is.  You are dependent on the other team to not have a good days. Do we want a chance at another miracle or do we just want to lose it out the gate?  Dave is going to try to win I would think.  That’s the whole point.  Not some Bryce fantasy being forever wished

That’s a great plan if you want to see 5 interceptions by halftime.

The game will again rest on the defense being able to generate turnovers and maybe even score. They got a pick 6 in the last game and a red zone INT. That was a net 14 point swing. Can’t expect that every game and certainly not against the same opponent. I don’t expect this will even be a close game.

Bought my tickets about 30 minutes ago. I don’t care if we lose. It’s been 10 years for a home playoff game at BOA.

no one in their rights minds thought 10 years ago when we ran a stacked Cardinals team off the field in the NFCCG while having arguably the best player in the league and the 1-1A best defensive player in the league both in their mid 20s that it would take another decade to host the next playoff game

anyone not excited whether we fell into the division title or not is a loser fan lol

Rams can be run on - I feel like their front 7 is better at rushing the passer than stopping the run. What we can't afford to do is keep getting in 3rd and long where we let their edges pin their ears back.

We gotta calculate our deep chances well - the Rams will probably take the approach of other teams and run single high safety on 1st and 2nd down. The week 13 Rams game is the 1 time this year where we actually had multiple designed deep routes that Bryce threw to. We need more of that and less stupid Little Giants flea flickers from the 20 yard line plays...

I don't feel particularly good about this matchup, but I am very happy with this group. I did not expected to make the playoffs this year. The weather should be better than the previous matchup, and Sean McVay has better film to scheme with.  That said, any given Sunday, and especially in the playoffs, anything can happen.  We will need a lot of noise from the crowd, and a good game from the offensive and defensive lines, and hope for turnovers.
