CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WGHP) — The Carolina Panthers are preparing to host their first home playoff game in a decade on Saturday and fans of the team are calling for one of the franchise’s legends to return.

Speaking of Munnerlyn, in a recent episode of his “No Cappin With Cap” podcast, he floated the subject of the Panthers selecting Newton to serve as the team’s “Legend of the Game” if they were to make the playoffs.

 

Newton responded “-1ØVẼ” to the post in his unique style of typing, seemingly expressing his approval of the concept. He also recently shared his emotional reaction to the Panthers returning to playoff contention in a recent segment of his “4th&1” podcast.

 

Newton returning to Bank of America Stadium as the Panthers host their first playoff game since Newton’s 2015 MVP season would likely generate a raucous reaction from the fans, similar to when Newton returned to Charlotte in 2021
