Bryce had his best season this year and it wasn't even remotely as good as Stroud's "worst" (2024, which was still a damn good season). His passer rating and efficiency were actually up this year compared to last.  His yards and TDs would likely have been higher as well, were it not for missing three games due to injury.  So he's actually improved his overall body of work. I don't see any trend downward whatsoever.  I agree the playoff game was a meltdown, but I think that had much more to do with missing weapons and what appeared to be an injured hand.  After his hand hit the center's helmet his accuracy clearly suffered.  It was a terrible game, but I don't foresee it being as career-altering. In regard to the topic of the thread, I'd trade 5 Bryce Youngs for one CJ Stroud in an instant and never look back.

What sort of delusional Stroud nut hugger are you? Bryce’s year wasn’t remotely as good as strouds 2024 year which was apparently a “damn good season” lmaooo

Bryce threw more touchdowns, less interceptions, and had a better qb rating this year than CJ did in 24

i mean at this point go be a Texans fan bud. You already chose an awful player to be your user name 😂

Stroud is who I thought he would be. He is a robot. He will make automatic, open throws, but he will crumble under pressure and in contested situations. People always used the Georgia game as an example of what "he could be". That was the outlier. That's not who he is regularly.

The Panthers chose right. Was the choice good enough? This next year will tell us.

And before the Bryce bashers say "yeah lets see how he does in year 11... Meh meh meh..." The fact is that this is an ascending roster with expectations going into next season. Bryce has to show up and show out. If he doesnt? 2027 is a good year to need a QB in the draft.

Sam Darnold

He could be on the verge of winning a superbowl, and we let him go

I bet Minnesota fans are really sick right now

Sam has become the ghost that everyone else sees

You know they’re crying the blues. They are likely hoping he folds like he did on his first try with them, to aid the cope.

I am pointing out that the parade of excuses sounds about like a typical Bryce stan.

The point isn't poor play. We all see QB's do that. We never saw a Peyton game where he had absolutely zero idea what to do, like he did against Pittsburgh and New England.

Mark my words, this is something to watch next season.

I'm not sure how old you are, but maybe you don't remember those early playoff games against the Pats where Manning was completely lost and had no clue what he was doing.  We absolutely have seen Peyton Manning crumble in the biggest of moments PLENTY of times, especially early in his career.

You mean the 4 INT game in 2004?

That's cool but he threw 8 TD's in the game prior. Also, I definitely never saw him looking like Stroud did. Anyone who watched those two games knows how incredibly lucky Stroud was to have only 8 TO's. I never saw Peyton Manning in a single game just panic and throw up prayers to no one. Not a couple of times but repeatedly.

That was basically a worse version of Sam Darnold seeing ghosts.

No, he never threw 8 tds in a game.  I feel like we're splitting hairs and are describing the exact same situation, but you're looking through the lens of recency bias.  Either way, the original point remains the same.  CJ Stroud is still far better than Bryce Young.

That was intended to be plural. Games(3 games he played in 2004).

Yeah, I think objectively CJ is still the better QB but I also no longer have a rosy view of his career. I don't know that he is going to ascend any further than his rookie year and he may descend quite far if his confidence is shattered.

I am not in the CJ vs. Bryce camp like most of you all are. I don't want either of them. Especially in the context of potentially getting a mega deal.

I could be wrong about both or either in the end but my bet now is that entire 2023 first round QB class just doesn't have any upper tier QB's.
