It’s got nothing to do with the event itself, it’s about the accolade and it lessening the meaning of it, particularly for past players.

Just call it “The postseason games” or something dumb like that.  Then have pro bowl voting still and those players are then invited to participate in the event, but any alternates aren’t then considered “pro bowlers”

I agree with that aspect.

The dumbest part about the pro bowl is it affects compensation and hall of fame credentials

Not really.

There is a big difference between being named an All-Pro and being selected to a Pro Bowl. Obviously, being named as an All-Pro carries much more cred than a Pro Bowl selection.

I hate the new format.  The old games were easy cash on the overs once the players stopped competing.

Players these days don’t need the pay day of the Pro Bowl. Even the lower paid players are earning enough money to not want to risk an injury playing in a pointless game. Last year didn’t the winners take home around $100k and the losers around $50k?

Sounds nice to most of us, but to them, I can understand why some turn it down or half heartedly it if they play.

I don't care about them making money, I was talking about me making money!

The NFL Pro Bowl has become one of the more disgusting, disgraceful events in all of sports.

It's past time to just eliminate it in terms of an event. Just do the voting, name the roster, and move on. When you get down to 6th and 7th alternates it's just absurd. It doesn't mean anything.

As many know, I like Shedeur, but that is insane.  The Pro Bowl has been a joke for a long time now.  It’s just a popularity contest.

Travis Kelce was the leading vote getter by miles. lol

He finished 4th among TEs in receiving yards and 13th in TDs for a 6-11 team. If you're not Taylor Swift's boyfriend not sure anyone outside of immediate family are voting for that.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
