Devin Lloyd is a PFF darling, but Jags fans are NOT as fond of him

Should definitely be an upgrade over our past ILBs

If I had a dollar for every player that our fans were not "fond" of, who then went somewhere else and had some good years, I could probably afford a tank of gas.

He was so up and down for 4 seasons. They declined his 5 year option for a reason

Oloukon has been their LB1.

Evero loves to send pressure so my guess is if Lloyd is going to be used a 3 down back here he’ll be blitzing on 3rd down a lot. Would’ve liked to have signed someone a lot quicker if that’s the case. Lloyd isn’t very explosive. Used to be

We do have two years to get these tackles. I would save room for after we get solid intel on Icky’s prospects.
In my mind, depending on what falls to us, the guy we take this year, if he isn’t great at LOT,  can pencil into ROT for 2027 if Moton is not in the picture.

And we can take another swing at LOT next year.

Moton should be back in 27 just due to the guarantees. I can't see us cutting him and eating that cap hit. Trade might be a bit different, but how many teams trade for 20m tackles?

I wouldn't be surprised to see us take 2 this year, 1 in the first and one in the 4th that has potential to play inside if they don't develop as quickly. Our line is awfully thin atm with the unknown injury Hunt got during the postseason. Even if Hunt's ok, we still lack depth. I could see is walking away from this draft with 2 tackles and a center, especially if we move down to pick up an extra 3rd or 4th.

I don’t think we would spend that kind of money on a LB that can’t play all 3 downs. It said he played 331 coverage snaps last year and only gave up one TD so him not being a coverage LB seems kinda like BS?

Its his job to blow smoke about BY9 and dis everyone else on the team

Wow

Dan Morgan is pulling out ALL of the stops this off season. Evero is fresh outta excuses now lol

How the fug are they affording this? Are we going to have to restructure or cut like 7 different players?

Pick 19 is looking like a total BPA right now.

PFF

LB Devin Lloyd signs with Carolina Panthers

2025 PFF Grade: 88.4
2025 PFF WAR: 0.24
Contract: 3 years, $45 million
PFF Projected Contract: 3 years, $48 million
PFF Contract Grade: Good

After two years as a good linebacker, Lloyd became one of the game’s best in 2025 by producing an 85.2 PFF run-defense grade and a 78.9 PFF coverage mark. Carolina lands a much-needed playmaker over the middle after placing 29th in PFF overall grade at linebacker, and to add Lloyd below market projection is terrific.
