Well he was a bust in Jacksonville but played well for the Saints the last few months of last season. Maybe he took that year on the bench seriously, or maybe the Saints offense was a better fit? Who knows

Fortner has started 44 games in four seasons after the Jags drafted him in the third round in 2022.

He was ranked 74th on The Athletic's list top 150 FAs.

Panthers agreed to terms with OL Luke Fortner, formerly of the Saints, on a one-year, $4.75 million contract.

Fortner has made 44 starts across 68 professional appearances for the Jaguars and Saints during his four-year NFL career, notably capable of playing all three interior offensive line positions. He brings veteran depth, although the uncertainties surrounding the status of incumbent starting center Austin Corbett could lead to starting snaps for Fortner.
