Sikkema is speculating they’re waiting on the Trent Williams domino to fall and that they’ll move in to pick up the corresponding guy elsewhere. 
 

I really don’t think they want to go into the draft with it being so obviously telegraphed where they are desperate, especially not with these options at OT in this class.

I think so too. I think they planned to go Defense in the draft, but had to pivot due to Icky’s injury. Not terrible, since we’ll need an OT eventually to move to RT or slide in at guard. Icky will probably spend the rest of his career at guard.

Stowers is a dark horse (from my perspective, anyway..not hearing as much about him as deserved--imo).  

I think we could go ILB here or there could be another edge to drop, but there are no Free agent TEs they want and the talent drops after Stowers.  He should be there in round 2

Stowers 2024 tape had virtually no in line tight end. All Hback and slot. I haven’t watched his 2025 yet, but scheme fit is going to play into his stock.

Don't get me wrong; having Trent Williams would be great but that's a big contract to take on.

I dont think they were draft planning in season. I think fans were thinking that way

We are sitting in a precarious position, with RT probably being an option as a position for him if or when we can upgrade or if Icky somehow comes back whole. So we could use him there in the future. He is a three or four year starter. 
 

The longer this draws out with nothing done, the more I see a costly draft day trade up. Rather not. 

I don't disagree but feel pretty good that Dan isn't done with the position in FA.
