Panthers HC Dave Canales hints at adding more weapons for QB Bryce Young

If so then thats a strange way to roster build

When is 'adding another weapon' narrative going to run its course and Bryce has to actually play well?  Next year it will be, 'Well, Bryce needs a Fullback as a weapon out of the backfield.'  Heck, at that point, that's all we will be missing.

KC Concepcion, come on down if that's the case. Only offensive skill guy we've met with in that area of the draft I think.

Probably looking at him as being our version of Shaheed on Seattle with his special teams abilities. Which, drafting a WR 3 and punt returner at 19? Meh.

DT, tackle corner.  One of those positions has to drop.   Or hopefully the jets or the rams fall in love with simpson and we can move back

Also just because, KC's prospect overview below. Sure sounds like the WR Dave wants IMO. He's not a deep ball guy, but he's your YAC guy who hopefully frees things up for TMac.

Smokescreen season, but wouldn't surprise me if with Walker signed now, and them probably (and stupidly) hoping for Ickey's miraculous comeback, we're actually thinking about WR at 19. Not the position I'd want, and waiting until Day 3 to draft all of our big boys could bite us in the ass, but think we might be serious about WR at 19 and ILB in the 2nd.

Overview

Concepcion offers immediate burst and separation into space. He’s elusive in beating press and getting into breaks with minimum damage from handsy coverage. While he has a one-speed approach, he can snap off routes with alarming suddenness, making him extremely difficult to match at leveraged break points. He’s instinctive against zone. He’s also a nightmare for man coverage on choice routes and near the goal line. He’s quicker than fast, with more value on utility throws utilizing run after catch. Concepcion’s ability to quickly uncover should be very appealing to teams with spotty protection and a young quarterback.

We were just in the playoffs for the first time in damned near a decade, and our first round draft pick played a large role in that. Moreover, looking at the costs of receiver these days, it is a premium position where you must control costs, so drafting a legit play maker at receiver is never really a terrible thing.

For the offense to be as bad as it was, and for all the investments that we made in the defense last offseason and this offseason, I just don't get how some of you think that an offensive play maker is a bad thing. I just don't get it. We need a legitimate third receiver, and we can't trust that Legette, Metchie, Sanders or Horn are going to suddenly morph into that.

Receiver's cant catch if the qb is either on his back or running for his life. Protecting the qb is one of the most important jobs a GM has.

Giving Bryce Young more weapons is a pointless exercise. More weapons isn’t gonna make his arm stronger or his height taller.

A QB friendly offense would be nice so that we don't have to spend 4 years evaluating the next guy. As a bonus there's nothing that would help shortstuff more than a TE who can catch his quick dinks through contact.

If you don't think Bryce is the future it really shouldn't matter which way we go because we're not making a run at the Super Bowl next year.
