Just for accuracy, I have not completely dismissed Bryce out of hand, but I'm almost (almost) as skeptical as one can get without being completely out. And, for the record, Derrick, as a Panthers fan, I'd love to admit that I was wrong.

I don’t know what to think about that. My first thought is to reject it as homerism because he likes him personally and Bryce is likely an excellent teammate. Me not being a Bryce fan and all.  

I guess if I wanted to argue over it I would wonder who is the standard that Brown sets as his bar for good or not good? Andy? Baker? Baker was bad when he was here. Not quite together Darnold? Who is the standard? 
 

But it doesn’t matter what I think or anyone else here as far as it goes. The story will take its own path subject to what happens on the field.

I agree but this has to be a worse take. He’s pretty much saying “ I told you so, about a quarterback rated  in the bottom 1/3rd of the league.

Or maybe he's in meetings and knows when others make mistakes that ruin plays. Just a possibility. For the record, I think Bryce has to be more consistent this season or it'll be time to start looking for his replacement. 

However, football is not a one person sport. QBs need a lot of things to go right to win on a pass play. But if one thing goes wrong, the entire play can fail.
