Huddle Big Board

Here you have guys, the official Carolina Huddle big board... :leaving:

I was hoping to have more lists to use for this, but the "where do you rank" thread seems to be just about dead. Anyways after compiling everyone's top 10 lists in that thread, it seems the Huddle's "consensus" top 10 players in the draft are as follows...

1--Peterson

2--Green

3--Dareus

4--Miller

5--Fairley

6--Bowers

7--Newton

8--Quinn

9--Jones

10-Gabbert

Link

And, in an attempt to take away in any irrational biases, (ie "nuthuggers"/"haters") if you take away everyone's #1 and #10 it looks like this...

1--Peterson

2--Green

3--Dareus

4--Miller

5--Fairley

6--Quinn

7--Bowers

8--Jones

9--Gabbert

10-Newton

Link

...take this for what you will.

Cool stuff. That's telling on how more chill the majority of posters are here. Its just the occasional loud ones that make you forget that most of us are pretty much open to all possibilities, consequentially liking the BPA: Patrick Peterson. Peace. :)

Seems odd that Newton is so low when so many of us here want him. I'd have expected him to be top-5 at least, if not top-3.

Everyone who had Newton in their top 5 had him at number one. I actually did another one where I looked at everyone's list as a weighted top 5 ballot a la Heisman voting. If you look at it that way, Newton comes in 5th in voting.

1--Peterson-164

2--Green----144

3--Miller------92

4--Dareus----86

5--Newton---50

6--Fairley----32

7--Quinn-----14

8--Jones-----12

9--Bowers----10

10-Harris-----4

11-Gabbert---0

1st=10, 2nd=8, 3rd=6, 4th=4, 5th=2

The first one listed looks reasonable to me, other than Bowers. Given the situation with his knee, he may end up falling far.

You know there's another way to look at this. Let's say you had a team made up of 21 average players. You can only add one.

Which one has the biggest impact?

Depends. If you add an average player than no impact is made.

Not really.

It is not that so many people want him....it is just that those that do are the loud mouths on the board....:sifone:

Because even the ones that want him, that aren't blind fanatics, admit he's not a top ten football player right now. Maybe in the future...but not now.

This thread is practically hugger free. People are making rational comments and not being attacked for their insolence. Freedom of speech and the ability to express logical, reasonable perspectives without scorn or ridicule from Cult Cam is nice.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
