“Our quarterback position is what it is right now,” coach Ron Rivera told reporters during a recent visit to Fayetteville. “We’ve got to talk about where we want to head as far as the veteran backup is concerned.”

Thought we'd never hear this again with fox out the door? you thought wrong.

sigh....it's been a long offseason...END THE LOCKOUT

How sad is it that this article came outta the Shelby star!? I grew up there.... Sad sad city!

Never been to Shelby, but I will always hate that place. Beat my football team in the State Championship 5 years ago. Total heartbreaker.

And yes, to the OP, the lockout does need to end because we definitely need something with some real substance to talk about. I'd at least like for our coach to be able to say hello to his players at some point.

Listen to coaches around the league. They all use that term quite often. It is not unique to Fox simply we heard it ad nauseum because he was our coach.

exactly.. sometimes there's only 1 answer to a question because people want to know what an answer cannot give.

OR, the coach/staff/player would be stupid to give it.. expect to hear it all your life.

Most interesting thing is that Cam already has the starter job locked up before stepping foot in camp and they aren't even going to pretend like he has to earn it. They also don't seem to be thinking about competition for him either.

Don't know if that's a good or bad thing, just interesting.

    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
    • I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
    • Uh oh, Nicole Tepper hugged him. In all seriousness though every time I see more about him my hopes get higher. Smart, great attitude, prototype size and measurables, and athletic. He could be a great one.
