How do you guys feel about Shockey now that he's in Charlotte?

I'm glad we have him, He'll be a great addition if he keeps his nose clean and stays healthy.

I have not talked to any Panther fans who think Shockey joining the team is a big deal. He's a good TE who is on the down side of his career, not some amazing hero. He is injury prone, wouldn't call him a pussy, but I do have a feeling of dread that he will run his mouth all season long. "We need to do this... we need to do that... I'm fed up losing... I consider myself a leader... blah blah."

We established years ago that theirs is garbage. The Huddle is the best board in the NFC South if not the whole league. I feel safe in saying that because of the influx of N.Y. fans that seem to find their way here every season even we don't play their teams.

I think a lot of the excitement about Shockey might be just as much a product of him possibly symbolizing a big change, or at least different behavior, from what we've experienced lately... a "controversial" character, big-name offensive guy at the TE position no less. I'm cool with that.

Personally, even if he stays healthy his fiery personality could be his biggest contribution to an offense that sorely needs a shot in the arm. It's not like we can really get LESS receiving contribution from our TEs then we've had the last few years.

I have no opinion on him really, although I do think that by the end of the season, Rosario ends up with more catches than Shockey, assuming Rosario is still with the team.

because of the lockout a lot of people keep forgetting about him. I think he's the best TE on the team most likely. I'm not thrilled about his attitude hopefully that changes.

Dude's a beast. If he can stay healthy his presence alone will cause Defenses to throw fits every Sunday. He demands a LB/nickelback's attention every down. That alone is worth having him here. He has the ability to run somebody out of a play every down he's in there, which opens up our offense the most since Wesley Walls! We have a bonafide TE gents!

Cautiously optimestic is the best way to summarize how Panthers fans feel. He is only on a one year contract so he will be gone if he is a distraction or doesn't produce. I think he knows this and will be a great teamate as a result.

He will probably give us 8-12 games of slightly above average TE play.....the change in uniform changes his douchey vibe into a more positive spunky attitude.

If he had signed more than a 1yr deal Id be more excited, might even have bought a jersey. My excitement level will increase proportionally to his production on the field, would love to see him beast it up and earn a few more years here. I always liked the guy, love his attitude, but lets see him finish a season here... On teh field, not IR...
