So who would you like the Panthers to draft with our 4th overall pick?

Little premature. We've been a second half team before. Look at the 2009 season.

As far as who I want, I want a solid DT or a linebacker with the first pick. WR just isn't smart, considering the depth and youth of our receivers. Sure, an Alshon or Blackmon would INSTANTLY improve our WRs, but we have bigger needs. Need DT/LB first and foremost. Then, in the 2nd round, we take which ever we didn't take in the first round between DT/LB. 3rd round, we take a DB/WR/OL. Whichever position has the best guy. After that, it's just depth wherever we need it.

Olsen was our third round pick....and well worth it....

i would take blackmon/jeffery or trade back no more than 3 spots to ensure we get whichever one is still available. gotta make sure we have a franchise WR after smitty leaves.

then we'll have two high seconds where we can draft a OLB (doubt zack brown will fall that far - maybe travis lewis? idk). could also grab a DT or CB. CB is fairly deep this year and DT is really, really bad. might not be one to go in the top 20 picks unless someone begins to play out of their mind and/or has an excellent combine.

    • Of course it's a crapshoot to find a truly elite QB. But we don't even need that to be competitive or successful. Our two best long term starters in 3 decades of existence were both flawed yet productive passers and each led us to a Super Bowl. Hell Jake Delhomme in the year where his arm went off a cliff and we had to start Matt Moore for a couple spells we had a superior passing offense than anything we've seen under Bryce Young the last 3 years. We're still trying to crack the top 25. All I'm saying is this is not the 2023 Panthers by any means. The cupboards are not bare. We are not working with scraps. We have invested through the nose to build up the roster and the trenches on both sides of the ball. We've also added multiple first and second day pass catchers in the draft. If a QB can't succeed here they are cooked.
    • That last line is the key. Passing game lives or dies off the running game. I struggle to see any help the passing has provided in return - there is no pass to op n up the run to speak of.  Add in that we have downgraded the run blocking at left tackle according to analysts, and I really don’t know what to expect from C….  It puts more load on th passing game to help out
