almost time for the 2nd hate wave to come through, isn't it?

This just in... Jake reportedly had second thoughts after signing the contract, decided he is worth more and threatened to hold out. The Panthers immediately added an extra $20 million in guaranteed money to his contract.

*sits back and waits*

Yea he realized he was criticizing two of the best teams in NFL history, and then remembered he was a Panther fan :(

I didn't criticize anyone. You just are not capable of reading into what I was saying to understand what I meant.

All the ignoramus' come on here and tell the Panthers what they should have done, bla bla blah, but their job considers no decision making. Probably press the same two buttons all day, brainlessly.

My point was that those two teams, in recent years have gone out and signed the biggest FA's and spent the most money with no results. Many people on this message board suggested the Panthers go after Haynesworth, Cassel, Cutler so on and so on. Have the Skins won since Snyder has been the owner? Have the Cowboys won since they stopped developing great players and starting going with big FA names. NO and NO. If I have to explain more than go to a WNBA message boards.

On a more serious note, don't be surprised to hear someone come out and say something like "it's really a four year, 20 million dollar deal" or something like that. Big contracts often have a true core figure surrounded by a lot of fluff.
i agree. his agent said it was complicated. i read that as heavily incentive based.

Have we won?

You're acting like you know it all when you dont. The Redskins and Cowboys signed old over the hill players just like the Panthers did by extending Jake.

This signing did nothing to help the team. Nobody on this board knows the exact figure on what we will pay Jake the next couple of years and to think we just gained 6 million in capspace would be wrong.

Also dont think we are a bunch of idiots on here because honestly it is making you look stupid.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
