Tolbert vs Hoov as fullback

Moved to the great white north and so I'm limited to information provided here. Watching hoover blow open holes for our RBs to break a long run was one of my favorite things to see. It seems Tolbert has a more diverse skillset than Hoov did and Chuds offense is more fun than foxball...but I'm curious to know if the huddle thinks Tolbert will perform as well as Hoover in regards to blocking.

Nothing wrong with the north. Also comparing Hoover to Tolbert is like comparing a rhino to a ... well... something else besides a rhino.

For the types of Offensive styles they are/were in, each works at their time. No real need to hash out who is/was or will be better.

Hoover was a great all-around FB, but Tolbert can definitely be the more dynamic player in this offense.

comparing players from totally different offenses... Hoov couldn't fill the role Tolbert is going to fill as well as Tolbert will, imo, but the reverse is true too for Tolbert in a Foxball system...

I think this topic is good, but you can't compare the two at the current moment. Tolbert hasn't been with this offense long enough.

tolbert has all the tools to be superior as a blocker, rusher, and receiver. with cam and the proliferation of the run game i think he'll thrive. i'm calling pro bowl.

I don't think we will ever see Tolbert do the kind of blocking Hoov did just because I don't think that will be his role. I also haven't gotten the impression from watching him in the past he is that same kind of player. On the other hand, i did see him level some nice blocks in SD so you never know.

I don't know, however, I love the fact that we have a wrecking ball in the backfield that can either run it and get yards in chunks or he can blow linebackers apart.

toblerts block for jstew on the TD was great...they both play in different systems because their skills are different, their effectivness in their respectable schemes are what they seem to have in common.
