Your one "key to the game"

If you had to pick only one key to the game, what would it be?

You know like Panthers needing to limit special teams gains by Bucs, or Cam throwing for a minimum of 250 yds.

My key to the game is our pass rush. If Panthers can get consistent pressure on Bucs QB, we will win the game. We wil be able to neutralize somewhat their running game which will mean a lot of 3rd and 4 or more. If we put our CB's in situations where they have to cover for long periods of time, we will be in trouble.

What is your key?

Cam is the key in that he needs to not rush things or let the rush pressure make him throw early or into double coverage. If he makes his reads and is willing to take what the defense gives him, we should be able to take advantage of the gaffs and lapses which every first year defense has in the first game under a new system.

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
