No, everything does not have to be polar opposites. There is a lot of room between applauding the results of a decision and complaining about the move being made. I'm surprised that people complain about benching a "proven starter" when hat "proven starter" sucked major ass.

replacing kasay with mare might have been the wrong move, but moving on from kasay was the right move. we just picked the wrong guy. people are arguing that replacing fox with rivera was the wrong move. i would say moving on fox was absolutely the right thing to do. whether rivera was the right guy to replace him with or not is still up for debate, imo.

replacing martin was the right thing to do. nakamura might have been the wrong one to do it with, tho.

This team will turn things around when we start drafting superior athletes. Tall, strong, fast guys (Seattle defense???) and when we utilize a more consistent offense. Traditional sets can show up every week. Power running, play action, spread formations, boot leg....all those things we are capable of doing with our personnel....

as matter of fact let me make this simpler.. Cam, Smitty, Gamble, Stewie and Gross would be guys I consider elite prospects that would be legit starters on a good team.

Yes, we have a lot of talent, but we also have a lot of holes and that's undeniable.

On defense, we're stacked at LB, but you also have to consider that two of our best (Beason and TD) have considerable injury concerns. Despite what some idiots may say, Kuechly looks like a stud. Charles Johnson is our only proven pass rusher and really our only proven DL period. Our DT situation is a mess. Chris Gamble is our only starting caliber NFL DB. Norman has shown promising potential, but we'll see. We probably have the worst safety situation in the league. If it wasn't for Gamble, we'd have the worst secondary situation in the league. Gamble isn't exactly young either.

On offense, Gross is aging out at LT and our best young OL (Kalil) will be recovering from an injury that isn't kind to big men. Big men who start having feet issue often continue to have feet issues. We don't have a RG and we hope that Silatolu will grow into the LG spot. Bell looks like he may have a future at RT despite struggling as a rookie. We have a loaded backfield at RB, but that's also taking it's toll on our cap space. I honestly think this is DeAngelo's last season in Carolina. We have some promising young talent at WR, but very little proven production beyond Smitty who is also 33 years old. Our offensive system is really hampering the ability to judge our offensive talent because we're simply not running an NFL scheme. Can our OL protect a QB in a simple 5 step drop? Who knows? Can Cam stand in the pocket and go through a progression? He showed some of that last year, but hasn't been given much of an opportunity this year. This gimmick bullshit needs to stop. If it was working, that would be one thing, but it's not.

Didn't matter who replaced John Kasay, the fanbase was going to boo and piss on no matter who it was. Hell, the Panthers could have brought Jan Stenerud in and the fans would still cry themselves to sleep every night.

Same with Fox in the opposite manner. Most of the fanbase was ready for Fox to go and it likely mattered little who it was, as long as the fans were happy.... how happy are they now?

Uh... Martin was not a rookie last year. He was a 3 year vet. He's had 3 years to learn the position, and still failed to grasp some of the most basic concepts of being a safety.
