Panthers shuffle O-Line

I've been looking at some video of Williams and I think I see why he's ok at RT, but terrible at OG. He moves really well laterally and has some quickness, but he lacks power and has to give up a lot of ground. Lateral movement is more important at the OT postion because you're more out in space and often opposing DE's will try to use speed, and you can get away with less strength, but at OG power becomes more important. It's tough to get around Williams, but easier to bull rush him if the DE has the strength.

Yep. That's the skill set difference I was referencing. Good call.

I've said before that Bell reminded me of Wharton who was a better guard than tackle.

I am optimistic this is a positive change that will get the run game going.

I think it definitely can be. I worry that they'll continue to try being super-awesome-cute with the read option and it will lessen any impact it could have though. Doesn't really matter who they put where on the o-line if they can't call plays that have a chance to work.
