There's one other reason that most on here who don't know any better will argue.... Luke is plain, flat-out just not that good in coverage. There's a reason he's on the sidelines a lot in obvious 3rd and long passing situations...

don't see Anderson on the team next year....we've got to cut some costs. And with a

starting LB corps of Beason-Luke-Davis, there's no room for Anderson.

The good news is, our LB corps is Beason-Luke-Davis. That is scary.

I am so happy to see Davis playing like he has this year. Hope Beason can

his cap hit isn't THAT bad, and assuming he comes back full strength (i think he will) he'll be an asset to the team. the defense still needs playmakers and he's definitely one.

i think we make a case for being the best 4-3 LB corps in the league next season.

Anderson as a rotational guy puts that corps as the best or damn near it in the league. Davis has been the pleasant surprise and hopefully that continues. Get us some back in guys and interior lineman and this D is fine. Problem we need just as much help on our Oline as well.

While he has struggled some in coverage, he has played very well on some plays as well. It's the weakest part of his game, but it's not from a lack of athleticism or ability. It's just an adjustment. It could also be scheme related, as he may be being coached to be intentionally over aggressive against the run. This would explain his overwhelming propensity on being sucked in on play action.

As to him being out for obvious 3rd and longs.....well that's just flat out wrong. He plays every down.

You guys should probably go back and look at his splits. When he played outside he was frequently on the sideline because he got caught in the wrong place too many times on passing downs. Read his interview where he talks about being off the field on 3rd downs...

in all honesty....with Luke in the middle I'd rather find a OLB that is a natural blitzer to compliment Luke. Beason isn't one.

The discussion was about Luke and his play at the Mike not on the outside. You should have specified that you were only talking about the first four games.

Also., Beason was a lot worse in coverage before he got reinjured than Luke has been at any point this year.
