Reasons Why Rivera Is Out (But Hasn't Been Let Go Yet)

What scares me is that Rivera continues to insist that he and JR are going to sit down and decide his future. I don't like that unless that conversation consists of Jerry telling him that his fate rests in the hands of the new GM.

All I know, is we have to start making some moves like NOW. Other openings are popping up all over the place and the longer we sit and wait, the worse our options will be. I'd rather just keep Rivera for another year than fire him a week from now likely after the top candidates are either signed or at least narrowed down their list of choices.

No different than the method used to find free agents every year....

We need to just accept we will not be good as long as JR is owner. We are not a professionally ran organization and cannot compete with those franchises that are. We might luck into a winning season every now and then, but we will not compete at a remotely high level on a consistent basis. We just have too many self-imposed handicaps.

I'd like it if the conversation goes like this:

JR: "Either you fire Chud or I fire you AND Chud. The man is a stubborn idiot who is going to get MY star quarterback injured beyond repair within 3 years."

Rivera: *sits and stares with that empty lost puppy look in his eyes*

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
