Favorite Sci-Fi Series?

Note: Distinguish your preferences for a sub-series i.e. SG:1 v. Atlantis

For me:

I'd have to say Misfits

Especially the first 2 seasons. Really one of the best shows on TV imo. I know it's kinda tweener sci-fi, but it f*cking rocks.

the '04 BSG, far and away the greatest science fiction show ever made.

STTNG started out as schlocky as any other scifi series but turned into the force that made well written modern scifi TV possible.

Firefly because it mashed up a lot of genres to make a clever show that could be shot on a TV budget without having a franchise name attached to it, and also because the movie was pretty freaking good.

ST: DS9 had some great ideas and episodes but didn't hang all that well as a body of work which was disappointing.

I am a FAN of lots of "bad" shows and love them for what they are, or their design, or whatever, but putting everything together is difficult. I see that Space:Above and Beyond was mentioned and I liked that show a lot but terrible time slots and a meandering plot with a tiny budget did it in before it found its footing which was a shame. It had some fantastic ideas to explore.

blame! Has an anime or show? or are you just talking about the manga??

Since you like blame also checkout Biomega which may be a bit of a prequel

I was talking about the manga but Blame! does have a short anime series though I havent seen it.

I actually read Biomega last week. :)

    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
