He's fuged... minimum 3.5 years in prison...

Updating a previous item, Bucs DE Da'Quan Bowers will be charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession after showing up to New York's LaGuardia Airport with a loaded gun in his carry-on bag.

The charge is identical to the one Plaxico Burress faced in 2008, and carries a minimum sentence of 3.5 years in prison, with a maximum of 15 years. Burress, who accidentally shot himself in the leg at a Manhattan nightclub, accepted a plea deal and served 20 months. "We are aware of the situation and are gathering information," said GM Mark Dominik. "We will withhold comment until we know all the facts." The Bucs can't count on Bowers playing football in 2013.

I'm wondering how this will progress. He told the counter that he had a weapon on him. Having it loaded though definitely isn't a good look.

Hopefully guys will finally begin to get ignorance of the law doesn't mean much to those boys looking to throw anyone they can behind bars for some newspaper time.

Remember the linebacker for the Washington Redskins was killed in his home?

And wasn't there 1 player for the Broncos That was killed in a limousine with Champ Bailey or something?

With things like that happening to high profile Athletes I wouldn't blame him for carrying a gun but to an airport that is a different story.

So they would have a better chance carrying around a handgun in their pants, instead of hiring a body guard? Mmmmmk

I doubt he'll get what Plax got. Without knowing the details of Plax's case, it seems like he got that much time as a deal to avoid whatever time comes with discharging said firearm. Again I could be wrong, but as someone that is very familiar with plea bargains, I'd say he'll get less than Plax got.

Apparently he didn't try to take it through security, instead he realized he had forgotten to take it out of his bag and notified the lady at the check-in counter. Seems like he was trying to do the right thing after realizing he screwed up. Unfortunately he should've been smart enough to know that he would still be arrested, if he had someone he knew in New York he should've called them up and handed it off to them or ditched it in a trash can instead of telling on himself. He could buy a new S&W .40 for about $400-500, which is way cheaper than the tens of thousands in legal fees and additional jail time.

    • Appreciate you, brother!  I know it was lengthy, but I felt whoever actually read it would appreciate it.
    • Damn good take, brother.  I think I take that poo personally because (sidebar: I don’t like to use narcissist often because social media has made it a buzzword and diluted the meaning, so when I use it, I don’t take it lightly) I grew up in a home with a raging narcissist, then married a narcissist and just came out of a divorce after a 20 year marriage with her, where afterwards she met and married another narcissist.🤣  And in my dealings with them, over my 41 years on this earth, at times I took great delight in breaking down their arguments point by point and forcing them to either acknowledge their wrongs and take ownership of them or watch them yammer and stammer away when they ran out of lies and excuses.  At various points, that was extremely satisfying, but ultimately, which I’ve realized especially after the last 3 years and going through the divorce and everything, it does NOTHING to them.  It doesn’t affect them one way or another.  For a logical, reasonable, grounded person, you would think calling them in their poo will bring it to their attention when they’re face when nothing but facts and truth and force them to change, but nope.  Not in the slightest.  They just disassociate from the ones who do that and find more people who will validate their behaviors and thinking.  poo pisses me off because they’re so destructive and couldn’t care less so long as their needs are met.
