So how do you feel about our saftey position?

Do you think we'll be sufficient there or will we be hurting bad like last year? Ron and Dave seem to think there will be no problems, but to be completely honest, after what we've seen in the last two years I have my doubts. I haven't really seen any proven players come for FS position and Charles is decent but not extremely consistent ( though I love his physicality).

Other than that we could definitely use an upgrade, but we'll see how the season progresses with Campbell or Mitchell.

I can side with a safety who knows how to cook dance...........im optimistic, at least one of our three young safety's should get the job done just wish we could have sherrod instead of nakamura

I'm just worried about our Safety depth, especially at the FS spot. If Godfrey goes down, we're screwed.

I hope everyone is right about Mike Mitchell.

 

It reminds me of last year when everyone said Naka would be good because he learned from Ed Reed...

 

In my opinion, there isn't enough film available to fans for anyone to know anything about Mitchell other then that he hits anything that moves.

 

What concerns me is that in today's NFL, quarterbacks will find that one weakness and attack it (i.e. our safety). I'd feel a hell of a lot better with Charles Woodson back there on a two year contract than anyone on the current roster.

Mitchell's speed and his willingness to get physical bodes well for us I'd say. We haven't had a guy playing back there like that in a while. Martin and Godfrey havent exactly struck fear into the hearts of our opponents...

He has a chance to win a job. Hopefully he emerges...if not...then the secondary is SOL anyways

Mitchell can be good if used properly. I'm not sold on his ability to cover, but he can hit and be physical and bring good intensity to the secondary in a way we haven't had in a while. I almost see a young Chris Harris in him, though more athletic.

 

Trouble with that is Harris never could cover worth a damn.
