Dareus was the guy who, in a post-game interview while he was at Bama, was asked what his major was.

He looked at the Bama media guy next to him to tell him because he had no idea.

We didn't draft him and now we have cam and a better player than him at DT. And one that goes about his business and doesn't run his mouth

I think I know why we didn't draft this kid....he seems a couple cards short of a full deck

 

There were actually some issues surrounding him that came out just prior to the draft and made a few GMs a little leary.  Some things about his family and a little concern that he wasn't quite 'all there' if I remember right.  I'd have to look up the specifics.

lol...seems like we aren't the only ones who remember. kind of surprised at the lack of homerism there, even tho ther is some, but you can read the thread over there for that. this was the stuff that made me laugh.

If he were to read that quote today, he's probably pause, chuckle, and then go back to wiping away the potato chip crumbs from his chin with his $100 bills.

 

I'm surprised at the amount of recent Alabama defensive players who have turned out to be average NFL players (Dareus, Mt. Cody, Hightower).

The offensive players oddly seem to fare better.

For the record, against Denver (the other team that passed on him) 4 tackles (3 solo) and 1 TFL

I'm sure there are thousands of Carolina fans who remind their front office every day about the huge mistake they made when they passed on Dareus for Cam Newton.  Bunch of naysayers.

Great players show up great. They don't grow into it. While Dareus is not a bust, he's the guy we took instead of 4 great players taken after him.

Those who are satisfied with that defense amaze me. It might be better than last year, but it still was far worse than average.

 

I'd settle for him stopping make us pay for taking him 3rd.

 

I've been watching him a lot....

he still has his quickness, especially on pass plays.

but he looks like he's lost some strength and is getting pushed around on running plays.

I never forgot it was you i just wanted to remind Dareus and Bills fans that of all the players at the top of that draft who have gone on to do tremendous things Dareus has done absolutely nothing
