Go for it on 4th and 1 and win

In FG range, up 3 with 1:50ish to go.  Secondary depleted, moving the ball well.  What do our coaches do?  Kick the FG to go up 6 and give the Bills the ball with our horrendous Secondary.

We had better odds with Cam/Tolbert getting the yard or so for the First down and icing the game than placing the game on the Defense at that point.  Horrendous

Nothing will change like a few others I called it as soon as we played for the fg. Anyone want a screen shot of my texts. Done with Ron. I want him gone just like I did halfway through last year. This team fooled me. Why do they play for this man? time to lay down. On to next year

since when has Cam been stopped on a 4th and 1 qb keeper?

Exactly, and if not Cam on keeper, Tolbert is likely to get it.

And if you don't get it, all you did was make OT more likely than before.  Either way a TD wins game, and with our secondary and history at that point it was a stupid call.

    • The aversion to tying up too much money in the ground game when it’s what’s winning us games is crazy to me. I get letting Rico walk if you think he’s easily replaceable but I don’t see many people arguing that, just applying an arbitrary salary cap based on what we think RBs are currently worth. I’d rather be stuck with Hubbard as an overpaid backup (not the worst one to have, mind you) than lose out on the most productive player on the offense personally.
    • Why do people keep saying things like “it’s not Young’s fault we spent so much to draft him”? Who cares if it’s his fault?  Nobody is saying send him to jail or anything.  People aren’t talking about blame for the decision to draft him, they’re talking about how bad he is as a QB and how we’d be much better with even an average QB.  Pointing out that we sunk a lot of resources into drafting him isn’t invalidated because he didn’t make that decision himself. Doesn’t matter whose fault that was, he’s still not playing like a QB who was drafted at all, much less one that cost two firsts, two seconds and a #1 WR.
