Gentlemen!

This is a trying time. A time of full of desperate feelings. A time of bewilderment, shame, anger, and disappointment. We have watched as defeat has painfully and pitifully pulled the glory of victory from our paws not once, but twice. We have have seen the snare of death reach out and touch our men of battle, decimating our second line of defense. Our leader has fallen pray to poor protection, hindering our offensive production to near uselessness, which in turn has hindered our beliefs in our strategic minds. Ay, these are trying times indeed.

Alas, now we find ourselves at the crossroads; and as we ponder on the weeks past; the bewilderment, the shame, the anger, the disappointment, the despair... We find ourselves with a choice. Quit now and be defeated like spoiled child getting whipped; Or act like men and rise above the occasion. I for one am not ready to declare defeat. I am not ready forfeit victory.

This is a 16 week war of attrition; a lengthy challenge of skill, discipline, heart, will, and commitment, and whilst' we have lost the first 2 battles, gentlemen, we can... no, we will rise again. I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the game plans are made right, as they are now being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend our home field, to ride out the storm of week 3, and to outlive the pain of 0-3, another near defeat, and more questions of our leadership.

Men and Women, get ready, this week the season really starts... and I'll be watching with great expectations. For the greatest of us all will lead us to victory.

    • When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly. We could have had multiple if we had done this in the past.
    • Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.
    • Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
