I thought yesterday the Bye made be good for us here with us banged up. Now I'm not sure I want those previous players out there over what we had. Shame we can't build off this momentum too.

I know right.  A poster commented on the play where White came back to make that intercepetion.  The previous players would not have made that play.  Godfrey and Thomas have not made plays like that ever.  Gettleman said he wanted instinctive players and I hope he continues to get them.

at 2:53 you see him blow up this dude launching him back like 4 yards its crazy. oh yea and then keep watching he annihilates another dude a couple plays later. this dude tackles hard.

I was at that game.  We were playing ULM (a conference rival) and that game had one of the biggest miracle comebacks I've ever witnessed.  ULM got a quick TD after a pick to go up by 11 with 3 minutes to go in the game, and was essentially over.  We drove down in just under a minute and scored, but were still trailing by 5, Onsides kick was converted, got the ball back, drove down and scored with 1 minute to go in the game.  kicked to ULM, and the game ended as they were trying to drive down into field goal range.  Amazing game, and a hell of a lot of fun to be at.

Anyway, White has always been a hard hitter, but became more so when Hudspeth took over as our head coach.  The Cajuns coach when White got here was not nearly as fiery, but you can thank the current Cajuns coach for nurturing his hard hitting nature and phenominal work ethic.  Our current coach actually has the team run Oklahoma drills before big games.  Hell, our Strength and Conditioning coach is ex special forces.  Best story I heard about that was coach Hudspeth asking him to push the guys on our team as hard as he physically can within reason, our Conditioning coach responded by asking "What about if I do it without reason?".  Part of their training is running a mile, doing a stadium at cajun field, (32,000 seat stadium) through to the upper deck and back, but with 50 pound bags of sand on their back.

that's badass dude. I had only seen that youtube clip and a few flash plays in preseason but i was ecstatic when he made the team because i just like the dude's tenacity and his size. seems like a good dude too.

Not to take anything away from them, but Mo, Larry, and Curly would look like studs with the pressure we were getting to the QB today.

This.

I am all for keeping White and Lester in there with the 1st team, but before we crown them as pro-bowl DBs, remember that our front 7 was an absolute monster in that game. Eli didn't have time to blink. I have never seen a D-line like that from us, even in 2002-2003

True, but not all of those sacks were due to pressure, at least one or two (Star's for sure) was a coverage sack...

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
